It’s a new year—so let me ask:
Are you crystal clear on your government contracting bid process? If not, it’s time to change that.
Here are a few questions you should be able to answer confidently:
1️⃣ Who’s your target agency? This will help you take a proactive approach to bidding and finding the right opportunities for your business.
2️⃣ What contract types will you pursue, and do you know how to respond to each? If you provide construction or another type of service, more than likely you’ll be looking at RFP, RFI, and RFQ.
3️⃣ Can you create a competitive compliance response for RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs?
4️⃣ Do you know how to find and use your agency’s forecast to plan your bids for the year? I use my target agency’s forecast to prepare for future opportunities to see what they have coming down the pipeline and then prepare by deciding my approach, building the team, getting a lock on the resources needed, and then putting everything in place. The forecast provides information like bid release date, contracting officer information, place of performance, estimated value, and set aside.
5️⃣ Have you set a plan to bid on specific opportunities, or are you winging it? It’s up to you to create a plan. Or you can hire me to help you with that. Which one will it be?
