Rap Against Dictatorship or R.A.D. was founded in 2017 by a group of rappers who shared interests in social, political and all related issues. Liberate P was the leader who started to invite other founders in his circle of Thai rappers friends, including Jacoboi, E.T. and HOCKHACKER
The song âPrathet Ku Meeâ (Which is My Country) was the first work of our group. This project was discussed among other rappers who are interested in Thailandâs political problem under the power of National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO). Due to its relatable topic, our group grew bigger.
âPrathet Ku Meeâ was released on 14 Octâ 2018 and was received by listeners of rap genre. The music video was released on 23 October. Three days later, it was covered by the mass media. R.A.D. was put under a heavy surveillance by government officials. Police and the government released statements to surveil movement of the group and that is the day when Thai society got to know the group, R.A.D.
