This is the YouTube channel for *ones upon a game* (onesuponagame.com/)
I am almost exclusively a solo gamer and look at the gaming scene through those eyes. I grew up playing board games with my little brother, like many the traditions of Monopoly, Risk, Clue, and other off-the-self games were prevalent. I loved baseball and while I could not afford Strat-O-Matic or the other big stat engines, I would make my own baseball games with four dice and a handmade chart.
Enter the computer and my profession took me in a different direction. Computer games became my choice of entertainment, primarily because of their solo factor. But then one day a few years ago, a co-worker brought Carcassonne, Pandemic, and Lost Cities to work for some lunchtime sessions and I learned that boardgaming wasn't just what your local big box store carried. Designer games were readily available and the field was growing. And there were solo games too!
