Hi, I’m Alex. I believe that everyone deserves to live in a home with fresh, clean air. Even renters, or those without ducted HVAC systems. I share practical, budget-friendly (yet effective) tips for creating a safe and healthy home, whether the word "home" refers to your house or your body.
My life path has pushed me to learn about many topics, from building science and indoor air quality to personal growth and healing. I have an innate tendency to meticulously test strategies for improving my quality of life, and have had to do so mostly out of necessity.
What qualifies me to speak about indoor air quality and building science?
1.) I myself have been severely chronically ill from toxic mold exposure. It's become my mission to help ensure that what happened to me does not happen to others.
2.) I'm a translational scientist in the medical field. That means that it's my job to translate science into practice. Every day I read research studies and interpret their implications.
