Orbitz has been acquired by Kone in Australia and New Zealand!
KONE will acquire the service business of Orbitz Elevators in Australia and all lines of company’s businesses in New Zealand. The acquisition does not include Orbitz Elevators Papua New Guinea or the vertical projects business.

Here you can see the lift outlines for Junction Tower in North Lakes, there isn’t any lanterns that I can see which makes me scared that they are Otis Gen2’s, but we will have to wait for next month when it opens.
Brand new Otis Gen2 replacing a Otis Hydro at QUT Kelvin Grove entrance from the Busway. A Block, and P Blocks lifts are also getting replaced.
UQ McElwain and Skerman (Social Sciences and Axon were still working, so completion date will be delayed again).
Good thing about Skerman and McElwain is that they are keeping their motor room and aren’t going to be MRL, not sure about Axon and Social Sciences
So, we have some exciting news in the Australian Lift community! Schindler has discontinued the 5500 here, and we have a new replacment for it, the 6000!
19 Lang Parades Eletech/Yusaki’s are getting a slight mod to move the cabinets and motors higher up, I’m guessing this is to prevent flooding in the future. The 3rd picture is what used to be in the basement.
