As we move into late fall and winter, itās essential to strengthen our lung capacity to boost Wei Qi, or protective energy. The lungs govern our respiratory system and the surface of the body, controlling the opening and closing of pores. This practice supports our immune system, helps combat seasonal dryness, and prepares the body for the colder months ahead. Join me to build resilienceāpractice along with me here!

Hello Friends!
In today's post, we will be continuing our theme of autumn health preservation.
Weakened spleen and stomach function is a common phenomenon during the transition from summer to autumn. In summer, people often consume cold and raw foods, which generally donāt cause discomfort due to the heat. However, when the weather turns colder, issues like loss of appetite, diarrhea, and stomach pain often arise.
To prepare for winter, itās important to store yang energy starting now, and porridge is an excellent food to help regulate the spleen and stomach. After the beginning of autumn, drinking a bowl of congee each morning can protect against the coolness of autumn, harmonizing the stomach while strengthening the spleen. Try using brown rice or millet. Millet is one of the most nutritious and medicinal grains.
Adding ingredients like pear, carrot, pumpkin, or dried lily bulb to the porridge can further nourish the lungs and relieve dryness. Drinking warm porridge also helps the body to sweat, disperse heat, and alleviate cold symptoms.
You can find millet and dried lily bulbs at local Asian grocery stores, organic stores, or order them online.

Hi Friends!
Autumn is upon us! š In Chinese medicine, we emphasize the importance of nourishing the body according to the seasons.
In the Five Elements theory, autumn (fall) corresponds with the Metal element. Metal embodies purification and elimination, and is associated with the lungs and large intestine. Our lungs govern the skin, nose, and emotions like grief and letting go. Autumn, Metalās season, teaches us to release what no longer serves us, much like trees shedding their leaves.
In the follow-up posts, I will share more details on how we can nourish the body and mind in this beautiful season, the foods to incorporate, and the exercises and practices we should engage in.

A Three-Year Journey with QiYoga with LuChin: A Reflection on Growth and Challenges
Today marks the three-year anniversary of my YouTube channel, āQiYoga with LuChinā, and Iām incredibly grateful to celebrate this milestone with over 130,000 subscribers. Reaching this point feels like a tremendous achievement, especially considering the obstacles Iāve faced along the way. As a non-native English speaker and being over sixty years old, I had no clue how to set up a YouTube channel nor a background in video creation when I started. This journey has been both challenging and deeply rewarding, as I learned everything from scratch.
Within the first year of launching āQiYoga with LuChinā, I was diagnosed with Sjogrenās syndrome, an autoimmune condition that caused severe dry eyes. This diagnosis forced me to stop creating videos for at least three months. It felt like a major setback at the time, as I was unable to work on the channel or connect with my audience. However, during this period, I became even more determined to explore holistic self-care practices to heal my body. The break gave me the opportunity to delve deeper into finding natural ways to support my health and regain my energy.
Through this process, Iāve learned that the biggest takeaway isnāt just about building a following or producing contentāitās about resilience, patience, and adapting to lifeās unpredictable challenges. Iāve come to understand the importance of taking care of myself, both physically and mentally, and that slowing down can be just as vital as moving forward.
Despite the obstacles, I am more committed than ever to sharing holistic self-care practices with my community. Reaching 130,000 subscribers is not just a number for me; it represents the power of connection, persistence, and the incredible support Iāve received from my audience. It reminds me that even in moments of doubt or struggle, there is always room for growth and improvement.
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you who have supported me throughout this journey. Whether youāve been here since the beginning or recently joined the āQiYoga with LuChinā community, your encouragement and kind words have meant the world to me. As I look ahead, Iām excited to continue creating content, exploring new ideas, and, most importantly, sharing this journey of wellness with all of you.

1. Would you be interested in joining a membership site that offers ad-free content?
2. What types of perks would you find most valuable in a membership site?
In follow-up posts, Iāll conduct a few polls based on your suggestions. Thank you for your input!
