Some random updates:
The new video is progressing nicely, it will cover four games so lots to do and read up on, and I’m still in the middle of irl house renovations (nightmare). I think a mid december date is realistic, I’ll definitely try to get it out this year
The Forgotten City: I haven’t talked about this here, but play this game!! It’s a time travel story set in ancient Roman times. VtM: Reckoning of New York: This is the third part of the story after Coteries and Shadows (I covered these in the Vampire video), and I think this one is really good. It has some awkward character and writing moments too, but I felt like it’s more charming than stupid (as it was in Shadows). I started Metaphor and the Factorio DLC too, and I have like 3 other games to finish from this year… and the video… and new games coming out constantly… waow

ok I took a little summer break from YouTube and I:
- changed some things around in my setup so the whole process should be easier for me, and the technical quality of the videos (hopefully) will also be better
- played a lot of Path of Exile, I’m lvl100 and 36/40 but I think I’m done with the league for now and can go back to other games yippeee
new video (shorter one) should be in about a month, see you then gamers

In a miraculous turn of events, I’m actually kind of keeping the timetable I’ve set for myself. I have a mostly complete script at this point, it needs some editing still, but I will start recording the voiceover shortly.
It’s around 43k words which means the video will probably be more than 3,5 hours, so the long time it’s taking is at least justified.
My goal (my dream) is to complete it by the end of July so i can nolife the new PoE league on release hehe. Unfortunately, I’m not sure how realistic this is, but I think it should be done by the first half of August at the latest.
Remember when at the end of the Pentiment video I said how nightmarish it was to record such a long voiceover in the summer heat, and now through clever and farsighted planning I’ve found myself in the exact same situation a year later. Pray for me.

More Random Updates
I guess I’ll do these here every once in a while, so this page is not completely dead between videos.
The new video is making good progress, I have mostly all the footage I’ll need and gathered a lot of notes (almost 40 pages lol). I’m working on the script now, a realistic release date would be somewhere in July I’d say. But I still might go down a 2 month rabbit hole on some minor detail which delays everything, who knows!
I had some problems this month IRL where I had to spend a lot of time in bed, but this made the Steam Deck I bought last month a great purchase. I played:
Citizen Sleeper: This was mind blowing, one of the best narrative games I’ve ever played. I don’t know how I missed this before, and now I’m super excited for the 2nd.
Indika: I really liked it, really interesting representation of religious trauma. I’ve watched Immaculate recently too and it’s kinda the same genre. Both of these were great.
Signalis: I don’t usually play survival horror, but this one captured me for some reason. I haven’t finished it yet, and I don’t really understand what’s going on storywise, but can’t wait to watch a million video essays about it later. (I just got to the part where we learn that they were roommates!! let’s goooo)
Dread Delusion: I’ve only started this but holy sh*t it’s incredible. It reminded me how much I love Morrowind, because it really feels like exploring Vvardenfell for the first time. I’ll definitely play a lot more.
I’m really enjoying trying things out on the Steam Deck, playing handheld again brings me back to the 3DS times. But anyway, back to working on the video.

Hi everyone!
I still don’t really know what to post here, so here’s a few random updates:
1) The channel passed a 100 subscribers and it might seem silly, but a 100 people liking the videos enough to push that button is still mind blowing to me, so thank you to everyone who decided to subscribe. And thank you for all the nice comments too, I can’t individually reply to all of them but it means a lot.
2) The new video is still in the notes gathering phase (I have like 15 pages already), but it’s progressing nicely. I think in scope it’s around 60% of the Pentiment video, so it’s gonna take a while, but probably not 6 months like that one did.
3) Speaking of the Pentiment video, there’s a new Noclip documentary about it that confirms a lot of what I dug up and expands on a few topics a little bit (like animation and clothing design)

It also has the benefit of hearing it directly from the developers, and it’s great to see how passionate they are about the game. I put it in the source doc as well, which I still update every once in a while if I find something interesting, so you can check out the new links if you haven’t

4) As you can probably tell, I’m still most proud of my Pentiment video. I experimented with some other formats and video lengths since then, but I enjoyed making the really long ones the best, and I think you can feel this on those videos.
I might be able to put out shorter videos faster (like Youtube recommends), but if I don’t really enjoy making it, and the video will be lower quality and feel rushed because of it, then what even is the point.
So I might make a few shorter videos on smaller games every once in a while, but going forward I think I’ll just focus on what I like doing, the really long deep dives, even if it takes months.

Hi everyone! A few updates:
1) For the Pentiment video: I’ve added a separate section to the source document for the things I’ve found since publishing the video. These will be links (and books etc.) you’ll find interesting to you if you enjoy this kind of stuff. So I still plan to update that google doc to be a comprehensive collection of things related to Pentiment.
2) For the next video: The script is done (it has been for like a month now but I keep adding stuff lol), it’s gonna be around an hour. The end of the year will be quite hectic for me, with a lot of things happening, so I’d say it’s gonna come out in January.

Hi everyone, a bit of an update on the next video:
Script is progressing nicely, however, there's so many interesting things I want to talk about it got a bit out of hand for a while (it's already 3 times the length of the previous one). But I learned 2 things:
1) Never commit to any specific time frame about release dates lol.
2) Don't go down every single rabbit hole while researching.
So anyway, it will be out, and I'm very excited about it, it's just taking a while.

Hey everyone!
I've managed to add subtitles to the MMO video, I've tried a few methods and ended up with one that's doable in a reasonble time. So proper subtitles should be a feature of every future video, at least in English.
Next video is in the scripting phase and it is already shaping up to be longer than the previous one. It should be up in around a month, but it might balloon with overresearching everything, who knows!
