Hi all.
It’s been a long time, but I’m here today to officially announce my retirement (although the lot of you likely saw this coming and knew this for a while). I haven’t uploaded in nearly four years, and I haven’t given any sort of update in two.
I am about to switch over to another phone, and because I share my login with AdventureWetpaint Studios (a childhood friend of mine) who has likely changed his password by now, I will lose access to the HeyApple Studios channel probably forever. But I didn’t want to leave you all hanging.
Although I haven’t enjoyed YTP or shitposting for years now, I wanted to give you all one final thank you for giving some light in what was, in retrospect, some pretty bad years of my life. The fact that I’ve garnered over hundred thousand views on at least one of my videos still surprises me to this day.
As much as I’d like to say more, I can’t think of the words. So, I’ll keep it at this- I’ll be off doing better things with my life, but thank for you all for fulfilling teenage me’s dreams. This is HeyApple Studios, signing off for the last time.

Hi there. Glad to break my silence after nine months to update y’all as to where I’m at after all this time.
As you can tell, I’ve been on an extended break from creating content. I haven’t touched my editor to make something decent in ages. As for why that is, it’s a longer story.
Obviously it goes back to last year, when I began to experience a burnout. Making videos (almost) every week in 2018 was a really hard thing to do. In addition, 2019 was a really big year of change for me for several reasons: I graduated high school and began college, and I was busy as hell deciding what I wanted to do with my life. But in the midst of all of the stuff I was doing, I realized I didn’t want to keep doing this channel for the rest of my life. I started this channel as a hobby, back when I had a genuine interest in YTP. Now that the genre is essentially dead (roast me in the comments for saying that if you want), the primary reason I started this channel kind of fizzed out. Not just because of that, but also because I developed different interests (that I will not discuss here) In other words, I lost motivation because of everything changing.
I also found myself having to deal with some mental health problems. I had a tough adolescence (don’t worry, I wasn’t abused or assaulted or anything), and after some enormous revelations I’m still dealing with a lot of unanswered questions I’ll probably never figure out, as well as a good chunk of self-loathing. And then, 2020 comes along and what do you know, the entire world goes to shit.
What I’m getting at is that so much has been on my plate for the past year and a half that I just can’t find the time to keep this channel going. I’ve been taking time off to focus on my life and my well-being. I apologize for leaving all of you to hang cold-turkey, but I just can’t keep saying I’ll be back because then it just raises these unhealthy expectations for me.
I can’t guarantee a video for you guys before the end of the year. I just can’t. I need more time to focus on finding my place in life, and ultimately where this channel fits into what I want for it. Nevertheless, thank you all for your continued support of me throughout the last seven years of my life, and I will be forever grateful for it.

My first set of videos for 2020 will be Smash Bros content. I won’t fully say what I intend to do, but it’ll involve the new Cuphead costume. Stay tuned.

Before the New Year comes upon us, I need to address a few things.
Firstly, I’m not going to do a channel rewind, a top 5 videos or a failed upload video simply due to the clear lack of content I’ve made this year. As much as some of you might’ve been hoping, I just can’t do it.
Secondly, I want to address my overall lack of activity this year as well. As some of you may know, I’ve been suffering from creator’s block since March, on top of a boatload of work since beginning my first semester at college, and I have taken numerous unannounced breaks throughout this year. I still don’t know when I’ll get back to regular uploads, but don’t get too hopeful.
And finally, I want to talk for a moment about the future of this channel. I’ve been doing shit edits on YouTube for well over six years at this point, and frankly I’m just beginning to outgrow it. I knew from the very beginning that this wasn’t something I wanted to do forever, and unfortunately I think the fall of this channel is coming soon. On the eve of the new COPPA regulations and all the suffering that will be wrought upon YTP creators, I just don’t know if continuing the way I am now will be safe, so don’t expect me to be making any large-scale projects anytime in the future.
I have heard about the new Animaniacs series that’s supposedly going to start airing on Netflix in 2020, so I will follow it wherever it goes. If there is a new rendition of Yakko’s World in the series, you’d better be damn sure it’ll be my closing act. But for now, please understand that this channel is still in the same state of limbo that it’s been in since March, and that it’ll likely enter a new state of crisis going into the new year.
It’s truly been an honor making videos for you people over the last few years, and even if this channel crashes and burns next year, I will certainly remember this channel as a high point in my YouTube career.

After a long fall semester, I’m finally out for a while so I’m going full steam ahead on finishing the last four to five minutes of the Holiday Special, which like last year will be a premiere livestream. Mark your calendars, because the 2019 Holiday Special will drop on December 20th.

My thoughts on the Rewind are short and succinct: Still not perfect, but nowhere near as bad as last year’s. At least they had the courage to admit their shortcoming.

I’m going to try and get a trailer up for the holiday special sometime this weekend, but I make no promises. If I don’t upload a trailer, I’m trying to aim for the special’s release sometime around December 20th or 21st.

I'm seeing no YTPer talking about this, so I might as well.
The COPPA controversy is sweeping this site right now. In short, YouTube and the FTC got into a spat over collecting data on kids and now YouTube is forcing its content creators to meticulously classify their content, on very vague and confusing grounds, on whether they are kid-friendly or not. Since the guidelines for defining kid's content are very vague, this will mean a huge hit to many major YouTube users, all the way up to and including PewDiePie himself. One question that in, in my opinion, hasn't been raised yet, though, is how does this affect the YTP community?
I want to make one thing clear before I give my take on this question, though. I genuinely think that YTP as a form of major content on YouTube is dead. All of the major YTP creators from the year I started, 2013, are either inactive, have left, were copyright striked out of existence, or are making different content entirely. And nowadays, when I see smaller channels making YTP content, it's usually not any good. Like, the YTP community is overrun by kids who don't think anything like the YTP veterans do. Even I don't put the title YTP in my edited videos anymore, even if I do call them poops still.
If you're aspiring to do YTP as a career, then bad news, COPPA just took that hope and crushed it into oblivion. A lot of YTP-like channels, myself included, thrive on editing kid's content and making them something entirely different. But if you're saying that the COPPA controversy is going to "kill the YTP community," in my opinion it's more like COPPA is spitting on its grave. The controversy basically guaranteed that the YTP community, and even some meme creators, will never be able to profit off their content.
A lot of you might reading this might not be concerned with this, and I understand. I mean, do you really think most of YTP is geared towards kids? No, I think it's geared towards the 13+ demographic. And yes, I know that most YTP channels don't monetize their content either because it's only a hobby for people like me, or that YouTube simply won't let them due to copyright laws. Because of this, you might think that a majority of YTPer's will probably be fine, and you might be right, but that's not what I'm talking about. I feel the need to raise this issue because while a majority of YouTube isn't YTP, there's definitely a lot of inspiration drawn from it. Some major YouTube channels have shown YTP content or have done YTP-like content before, and now they're gonna get screwed because of it.
So, I urge all of you to learn more about the COPPA controversy and why it will screw YouTube hard. If it's anytime to stand up for our beliefs and values as content creators, now is the time. I might think that YTP is dead, but I don't want the rest of YouTube to go down as well.
