This advice from medical school stuck with me.
I didn’t totally get it right away, but i eventually realized it’s a mindset. And now i live by it.
Science isn’t static. Health advice shifts. And so much of what we “knew” even a decade ago has changed. I always have to be ready to accept that I don’t have it right.
The same is true in life. Growth starts with questioning, curiosity, and the willingness to unlearn and relearn.
What’s something you once believed that turned out to be wrong?

Many natural drinking water sources contain trace minerals in various amounts and some of these are necessary for adequate hydration. When we drink heavily filtered water, while there are many benefits, it also removes healthy minerals.

Differing opinions and disagreements about the best healthcare practices are essential for innovation in healthcare. We NEED opposing viewpoints. And we also need respectful dialogue. This world needs doctors who clearly articulate what they disagree with, why they disagree, and communicate their point of view. Those are the ones driving healthcare forward. However, the world does NOT need doctors who callously try to discredit others in an attempt to elevate their own status.

I think it’s fair to assume that sports drinks and electrolyte drinks should be healthy. Unfortunately, many of the most popular sports drinks are closer to a candy bar than they are to a health drink. There are plenty of great options available but there are just as many awful ones. Here are a few clues that can help you avoid the bad ones.

Life lessons from Muay Thai. Unless it’s carefully calculated, small movements and small reactions are almost always the best options.

I am a licensed naturopathic doctor practicing integrative medicine. I want to provide some education and understanding to give you the confidence to improve your health and wellbeing. I am not offering medical advice here because that would be super irresponsible of me, but I am trying to provide knowledge you can use to work with your medical professional with the goal of feeling better tomorrow than you do today.
