What an epic movie! My brother and I got out of seeing Gladiator II tonight and it was absolutely astonishing. It may be (quite) a bit derivative of the original but thatā€™s not really a problem in my opinion, as it more or less can stand on its own. The action was well done, the performances were great (Paul Mescal and Denzel Washington [for a fact] specifically), and I quite liked Harry Gregson-Williamsā€™ score, invoking some of Hans Zimmerā€™s from the first. But the thing that stuck with me are the visuals and scope from Ridley Scott; he always finds a way to make his movies an event and this was no exception. This weekend, I know a lot of people will go see Wicked, but this is the movie to go see; I was definitely entertained. Iā€™m giving it a strong 8.5 out of 10, most definitely recommended. #GladiatorII #RidleyScott #PaulMescal #DenzelWashington #PedroPascal #Epic #WellDone #EntertainedForaFact

Now for another review. I went and checked out Red One in the early access screening and I have to be honest, the critics may have gotten this wrong. I found this to be an absolutely fun time even though its Christmas message has been overdone many times. Dwyane Johnson and Chris Evans honestly had great chemistry and J.K. Simmons was a pretty decent Santa. The humor hit most of the time and I honestly loved the visuals but thatā€™s just me. If you liked the last two Jumanji films, youā€™ll like this too, in my opinion. When it comes out this next weekend, go check it out if you want a fun Christmas film. Iā€™m giving it a solid 7.5 out of 10, recommended. #RedOne #DwayneJohnson #ChrisEvans #JKSimmons #MGM

Iā€™m a day behind but my mom and I checked out Clint Eastwoodā€™s (final?) film Juror #2 yesterday. Itā€™s a shame that itā€™s barely being screened because this was a very well done movie. Like most of Clintā€™s directed films, he primarily focuses on the characters and what they do. Nicholas Hoult (the new Lex Luthor) plays the titular character and I wouldnā€™t be surprised if he gets nominated for a Golden Globe or an Oscar for this, he was that good. It raises a few questions about morality and what is the right and wrong thing to do even if itā€™s not so cut and dry. The ending will leave you going, ā€œohhh!ā€ Iā€™m giving it a solid 8.5 out of 10 and if youā€™re able to get and see this, please go check it out, I highly recommend it. #Juror2 #ClintEastwood #NicholasHoult #WarnerBrosMakeThisaWideRelease

ā€œWe are VENOM!!ā€ So my brother, myself and a friend of ours got out of seeing Venom: The Last Dance earlier this evening, and to properly review it, you have to have the mindset of knowing the previous moviesā€™ qualities haha. Letā€™s be honest, these movies arenā€™t the best, nor are they the worst, but they arenā€™t the most, umm, accurate for the character. That being said, theyā€™re all dumb, goofy fun and this one is no different. Once again, Tom Hardy does a great job as both Eddie Brock and Venom, the action was kinda solid, but the movie has a whole bunch of nothing going on in it. The third act brings the action and like I said, it is solid, but thatā€™s about it. The humor works for the most part too, but it still makes me wish Hardy could portray the character in a better movie. Not sure where these movies are headed, and all we have left is Kraven in December, so who knows? As a movie, Iā€™m giving it a 6 out of 10 but as another one of these Venom movies, Iā€™m giving it a 7.5 out of 10. So, an overall score of 6.75 out of 10, and if you wanna turn your brain off and enjoy a decent ride of a movie, go check it out, but thereā€™s no rush. #Venom #TheLastDance #SonyMarvel #AviAradStrikesAgain

ā€œOh, this is heavy!ā€ Last night, my brother and I watched Back to the Future Part II in theaters for the first time in celebration of its 35th anniversary and it being Back to the Future Day and I gotta say itā€™s even better than weā€™d ever seen it before. The movie theater experience for this is a great one to say the least. I can only imagine how it was back in 1989. Hereā€™s hoping they release Part I and III for their 40th and 35th anniversaries respectively next year. The highlight was Alan Silvestriā€™s score having a sense of scope in the theater, something that you canā€™t necessarily recreate at home and I have a surround sound setup lol. #BTTF #BTTFPartII #BTTFDay #MichaelJFox #ChristopherLloyd #RobertZemeckis #BobGale #StevenSpielberg #AlanSilvestri #1989 #35thAnniversary

Live from New York, itā€™sā€¦a very well done movie. My dad and I got out from seeing Saturday Night and I have to say it is a great time. Jason Reitman wasnā€™t joking when he said he wanted to put the audience in a thriller mindset, because thatā€™s in a sense what this movie is. In short, a race against time (in this case, 90 minutes) to make it to air. The tension is there with some great comedy thrown in as well as some drama. The cast was phenomenal, everyone was damn near the spitting image and sound of their real life counterparts, especially Dylan Oā€™Brien as Dan Aykroyd and Cory Michael Smith as Chevy Chase as well as newcomer Matt Wood as John Belushi. When you get the chance to, and if you can, go out and see this movie, a reminder of the times when SNL was up and coming and just flat out comedy gold, in time for its 50th anniversary, no less. Iā€™m giving it a solid 8.5 out of 10, highly recommended. #SaturdayNight #SNL #JasonReitman #1975 #SNL50 #LorneMichaels #ChevyChase #DanAykroyd #JohnBelushi #SaturdayNightMovie #Sony

LFG! My brother, myself, and a friend of ours just got out of seeing Deadpool & Wolverine and I gotta say, it was damn worth it. The action, the humor, the chemistry of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman and the cameos, THE CAMEOS were incredible. There were a handful that blew my mind and Iā€™m sure itā€™ll blow everyone elseā€™s too. There was one cameo that took me back to my childhood and while it was funny to see this character back again, the demise of this person kinda screwed with my brain. I was hoping maybe a variant from another version of this character from a very worse iteration to be the one killed off. Damn, Iā€™m still kinda processing it but Iā€™ll live haha. This movie is more or less a send off to the Fox era of Marvel and thereā€™s a nice touch in the end credits set to a great song. Iā€™m giving it a strong 8.75 out of 10, cause there are some parts that couldā€™ve been improved on but I really enjoyed it, and this weekend, if youā€™re able to, go check this out. I highly recommend it. #DeadpoolandWolverine #Deadpool #Wolverine #RyanReynolds #HughJackman #MCU #Marvel #Fox #ShawnLevy #KevinFeige

Talk about yet another fun time at the movies. My brother and I saw Twisters at the early access screening tonight and it was a hell of a ride. A legacy sequel, thatā€™s not really a sequel but more a movie that can actually stand on its own, done right. The cast was great particularly the trio of Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Anthony Ramos, and we got our first glimpse at new Superman actor David Corenswet as weā€™ve never seen him in anything before. The spectacle of it all was absolutely incredible and the sound (Dolby Atmos) was chest pounding. When this comes out this weekend, be sure to check it out, I definitely recommend it. Itā€™s what a summer movie should be and it was accompanied by an incredible soundtrack too; loads of great new songs. Iā€™m giving it a strong 9 out of 10. Now, just about a week until the highest anticipated movie of the year, Deadpool & Wolverine, canā€™t wait! #Twisters #GlenPowell #DaisyEdgarJones #AnthonyRamos #DavidCorenswet #Exciting #Thrills

ā€œTrust me!ā€ Eddie Murphy is back. I just watched Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F with my parents (they loved the first films) and it was honestly a fun time. Itā€™s clearly a tribute/sequel to the first two films, it practically ignores the third one haha, which I get it, but I donā€™t think that movie is all that bad. Seeing all the old cast (Paul Reiser, Judge Reinhold, John Ashton and of course, Bronson Pinchot) was such a great thing to see after all these years and the new cast members (Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Kevin Bacon) were nice additions as well. The action was great too; having Jerry Bruckheimer back clearly was needed (which the third didnā€™t have), and Iā€™m so disappointed this didnā€™t get a theatrical release, cause I think it wouldā€™ve done well, considering Bruckheimer has had three straight legacy hits with both Bad Boys films and of course Top Gun: Maverick. That being said, the music was great too, classic songs from the originals and of course, the score. Lorne Balfe encapsulated Harold Faltermeyerā€™s score to perfection, and it was amazing to hear. Over this Fourth of July weekend, if you have Netflix, check this out. I recommend it. Iā€™m giving it a solid 8 out of 10. #BeverlyHillsCop #AxelF #AxelFoley #EddieMurphy #JudgeReinhold #JohnAshton #BronsonPinchot #JosephGordonLevitt #KevinBacon #PutThisinTheaters #Netflix

Bad boys, bad boys. Whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do with another solid movie? Man, that was a blast! My brother, my dad and I just finished watching Bad Boys: Ride or Die tonight and let me tell you, it was badass, funny, and a flat out great time at the movies. Critics wonā€™t say this but I found this one to be much better than the last one, which I enjoyed the hell out of. This is a hell of a way to start out the summer. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence were once again dynamite as Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett and Adil & Bilall just proved to me that theyā€™re one of the best directing duos in the world right now. The action scenes were so creative that I kept going ā€œdamn!ā€ every time something awesome happened. The angles. The shots. Wow. Some great character moments, especially from a certain fan favorite which I wonā€™t spoil here. Off topic but seeing Ioan Gruffudd in a movie again made me feel nostalgic as hell, given he was Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic in the original Fantastic Four movies, and hereā€™s hoping we see him again soon. Oh and also, Lorne Balfe had a nice touch in bringing a few of Mark Mancinaā€™s themes from the original. Iā€™m giving it a strong 9 out of 10, so be sure to go see it this weekend and then see it again. By the way, and this isnā€™t a spoiler, but Tiffany Haddish (who is just awful anyway) was the worst part of the movie, which prevented me from giving this a 10. #BadBoys #RideorDie #BadBoysRideorDie #WillSmith #MartinLawrence #AdilBilall #Sony #Badass #Hilarious #ActionPacked
