🇬🇧 In our latest episode of the Off the Map series we take you to Tunis to meet Khalil Epi, one of the most innovative creatives on the Tunisian electronic scene who’s been on a mission for almost two decades to weave a thread through traditional music, pop, European club and North African art music. In 2023, Khalil unveiled Aïchoucha, an immersive audiovisual creation combining electro-acoustic music and a 3-screen 270° panoramic projection of a film he shot himself during many trips across Tunisia in search of tradition both lost and found. The breathtaking result is a living, non-exhaustive cartography of Tunisia's great musical traditions. It was above this creative endeavour that PAM set out to create this new episode of Off the Map directed by Fatma Ben Aissa.

🇬🇧 DJ Sitos, a pioneer of an unclassified musical genre from Kinshasa called "zagué style", has to hustle to get his music heard. After downloading a track on his USB stick in the studio, Sitos hits the streets, greasing the palms of street DJs with sound systems that dictate what’s hot or not. Sparing a few Francs for the kids who dance or make some noise, Sitos’ work is a nonstop grind between studio sessions and long days of loading cargo, a way of avoiding the gangster lifestyle.
