"(Fiqh) is knowledge of the laws of the Shari'a, the way to know it is by ijtihad. One of them is the knowledge that the intention in ablution is obligatory, witr (law) is sunnah, intention at night is a condition (legitimate) of fasting in Ramadan, zakat (law) is obligatory on the property of small children, not obligatory (legal) on permissible jewelry, and killing with heavy objects can cause qishas, as well as other examples of erroneous problems,” (See Jalaluddin Al-Mahalli, Syarh Al-Waraqat, Surabaya, Al-Hidayah, 1990, page 3).
