Hi everybody,

I hope this message finds you all doing well.

Just a brief update to let you all know that I'm home from hospital. The surgery went well and was successful. The doctors removed the tumour from my esophagus and then resected it. It's a long, complicated and complex procedure called an Ivor Lewis Esophagectomy. Other than a nasty allergic reaction to the skin glue used to help heal the incision entry points, it all went to plan.

During the procedure, the surgeons had a look around the vicinity and couldn't see any evidence of metastatic spread in the liver or lungs, so that's great news, although doesn't necessarily mean I'm in the clear just yet!

So I'm home and already eating a full liquid diet, which includes yoghurt, ice cream, sorbets, strained soups, etc. With a few weeks, I'll be moving onto soft foods like scrambled eggs and mashed potatoes, and within a month or so back onto a normal diet.

I'm going to take it easy for a couple of weeks now but hope to be back with new tracks within a month.

Once again, thank you so much to everybody who wrote with their good wishes. As soon as I was able to, I read them all. I will get round to replying in the next few weeks.

Again, thanks.

Nick

Hi everybody,

I just wanted to let you know I am having surgery on Tuesday, April 30th, to remove the tumour in my esophagus.

It's a fairly lengthy surgery followed by a couple of days in intensive care, then about eight or nine days in the a regular hospital ward.

Needless to say, I'm going to be away from YouTube for at least a couple of weeks while I recover. Hopefully, I'll be back recording in a month or so.

I'd like to convey my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all of you for the many, many messages of support myself and my family have received. We have been blown away and overwhelmed by the kindness and interest you have shown. It has been a huge morale booster for us.

I'm looking forward to bouncing back stronger in the near future.

With my best wishes,

Nick

Hi everybody,

I thought I would give you a quick update. Firstly, my wife and I are spending a little time in the USA. We're not quite sure it's where we'll eventually settle but for the time being it gives us a few more options with treatments. And besides, I always enjoy the time I spend in America.

The good news is that recent scans showed the tumour in my esophagus as having shrunk from 5.5cm (2.2 inches) to 1.5cm (0.5 inches). Even better news is that there's no evidence of any cancer in the two lymph nodes that were previously affected. This means I'm now eligible for surgery. So I'm having the tumour removed at the end of the month here in Atlanta.

Oh, and my hair is growing back, which is a pleasant bonus also! :)

An esophagectomy is not an especially pleasant surgery and it comes with quite a lengthy recovery period. So I'm not sure when I'll be back recording. On the flip side, I'll have plenty of time in hospital and then at home to write – and so I plan to bounce back with a lot of material! Just not sure right now when it will be. Hopefully, it won't adversely affect my voice too much!

I'm going to try to produce one more video before I go into hospital, but as you can probably imagine, my mind is a little preoccupied. I'm a slow writer as it is, and I'm at a snail's pace right now! :)

In the meantime, I wanted to thank each and every one of you who has commented, posted or emailed me the past few months or so. Your support has meant so much to me, and has been invaluable in helping me get through some challenging moments – I can literally feel the positive vibes you've been sending my way. You are such kind and generous souls!

Thanks again all.

Hi everybody,

It's been awhile since I posted an update and so I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for your kind and generous well wishes during the past few months. It truly has given me a massive emotional boost each day reading your messages of hope and positivity.

I've been doing my best to reply to everybody but am sure I've missed a few here and there. In which case, I apologise if I didn't thank you personally for your comment, but hoping this will compensate!

Anyhow, I'm doing great at the moment. I had eight weeks of chemotherapy between October 30th and December 11th. I tolerated it pretty well – although the drugs do wipe you out and you're hit with an overwhelming sense of fatigue. I was lucky in that I never felt nauseous. I just lost my appetite for a few days each time and everything I ate tasted disgusting. Then I would get these weird food cravings – I would be sitting at home in the evening and say to my wife, "I need liquorice toffees now!".

The good news is that the follow-up CT/PET scans in January in the UK showed a good response to the treatment.

The even better news is that the CT/PET scan I just had in Atlanta showed the tumor has reduced from 5.5cm to 1.5cm and there's no evidence of any metastasis (spread). I have a consultation with a surgeon here in the US next week.

I've taken the advice of some of my listeners here who advocated specific supplements and dietary changes. I also have been following the meditations and writings of Dr Joe Dispenza, especially in regards to gratitude. Each and every day, I've been expressing gratitude for my life and telling myself I am cured. I truly believe the mind plays the most important role in helping the body overcome and beat disease.

But at the moment, I feel great and have no symptoms at all that anything is wrong. I'm aware from personal family experience that cancer is a journey of ups and downs, so I'm not taking anything for granted…but so far, so good.

I'm currently just putting the finishing touches to a new video, which I plan to release the middle of next week.

Once again, I'm so grateful to everybody who listens and to everybody who comments and writes to me. Your support is invaluable and words cannot express how much your generosity of spirit means to me and my family.

My best regards,

Nick

Hi everybody – sorry it's been awhile since I posted a video but, as many of you know, a few life challenges have gotten in the way the past few months!

Anyhow, after a 3-month sabbatical, I'm posting a new video this evening at 9pm ET, 6pm West Coast, 2am UK time.

It's a sleep hypnosis track featuring elements of astral travel, law of attraction and manifestation. I've written it for anybody and everybody to listen to – whether you want to reduce anxiety and depression, make behavioural changes or simply to relax, rest and sleep. I hope you like it.

I'd be thrilled if you would take a look and share with anybody whom you feel may benefit.

Thank you.

Good morning, good afternoon or good evening,

I'd like to wish all my listeners from around the world a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday season.

I truly hope you all get to relax and spend some quality time with friends and family.

I cannot express enough gratitude to you all, not only for listening to my videos and supporting my channel, but for your unwavering, generosity of spirit and kindness to each other. I read every comment on my videos and it warms my heart when I see complete strangers engaging in conversation and offering each other support and encouragement. It goes to show we live in a world where there is a lot of love and empathy. Long may that continue.

I look forward to writing and creating many more sleep hypnosis and guided meditation sessions in 2024 and beyond. Apologies if I didn't manage to fulfil any personal requests this year – it was a difficult past few months – but I'll try to tailor more listening experiences to listeners' needs going forwards.

So, once again, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everybody. Make it a season to remember!

My very best regards,

Nick

Good evening / morning / afternoon.

I just wanted to say a collective huge thank you to everybody who has written to me during the past week or so. To say I've been overwhelmed by the level of support and kindness is a massive understatement. Words just can't do justice to how much your kindness has meant to me. Myself, my wife and my family have taken so much strength from the outpouring of love and support from you all. I am eternally grateful.

I've read through each and every message, and have been responding to each and every one, too. Apologies if I haven't gotten to your individual note just yet – there have been so many and it's taking a while to get to them all. But I promise to reply to them all.

On a separate but related note, I noticed that somebody pretending to be be me is replying to comments. I've been trying to block these 'scammy' comments before they get published but the occasional one is still getting through the filter!

While I'm happy to chat and answer questions in the comments, please note I will never ask you to send me WhatsApp messages directly on this platform. Nor will I ever encourage you to communicate with me for investment advice or to buy any products! So if you see a telephone number in a comment, rest assured it's not mine!

If you wish to send me a personal or private message, you can do so via my email or Facebook page, both of which are highlighted in the "about" section on my channel.

Other than that, I am in the process of finishing the writing of a new guided meditation this weekend, and hope to record some time next week.

Thanks again everybody. I appreciate you all.

Hi everybody. I hope this message finds you all healthy and well.

I've had a lot of messages recently from listeners asking if I'm OK since I hadn't published a video for a while.

This is a tough one to write. A couple of months ago, I was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. In late July, I noticed a slight issue while swallowing some food – nothing major but enough for me to book an endoscopy. That endoscopy subsequently revealed a small tumour in my esophagus. Following some CT scans in September, I started an 8-week bout of chemotherapy on October 30th. My birthday… what a gift! :)

Fortunately, the cancer hasn't spread to any other major organs – just into a couple of lymph nodes. The standard protocol for this type of cancer is chemotherapy to shrink the tumour followed by surgery. Most likely that will be some time in the new year. As of now, the intention is full cure. But I'm treating it day by day.

So far, the chemo has been manageable. It does, however, really wear you out and I've had a lot of fatigue. Oh, and my hair is starting to fall out. Oh well. It'll grow back! :)

I just wanted to let everybody know the situation. I take a lot of strength and enjoyment from the positive comments I wake up to each morning from listeners so please keep them coming. I love hearing from you.

I plan on writing more videos in the coming weeks, as well as remixing a few of my most popular tracks with new background audio options.

My very best to you all.

Hi everybody,

I just thought I would give you a quick update on a few changes I'm going to make to the scheduling of my videos going forwards.

First, however, a few explanations.

When you create and publish videos here, you are heavily reliant on YouTube promoting and delivering your content to the appropriate audience. In most instances, YouTube will actively promote your videos the most during the first 48 hours of publishing.

In addition, YouTube rewards those creators who post frequently – especially if you're fairly new to the platform like myself. This means I have to post regularly, otherwise my channel views start to decline… since I'm not yet established enough for YouTube to constantly promote my content to viewers.

Secondly, since many of my videos are focused on relaxation, sleep and anxiety relief/reducion, my videos tend to perform very well from Sunday night through Thursday night, and then the views fall off significantly on Friday and Saturday – presumably when people are not so stressed about work or not so worried about sleeping ahead of the weekend.

When the views on my channel decline over the weekend, it appears as though YouTube interprets this as lack of interest and responds by recommending my videos to fewer people the following week. It becomes a downward spiral.

So to counter this trend, I am going to amend my publishing schedule so that I primarily upload videos on Friday and Saturday evenings, with perhaps one additional video during the week. This is a little more than I would ideally like to publish, but while I am growing and developing my channel, it is necessary. I hope this strategy helps keep my channel views higher at the weekend so that I continue growing each week rather than starting from square one each time.

I hope that makes sense to everybody. Please let me know in the comments if you have any questions or thoughts.

And as always, thank you so much for your continued support. I'm so thrilled to have some 45k subscribers and 8 million views across my channel. I couldn't have done it without your support and encouragement.

My best as always,

Nick

Good morning, afternoon or evening everybody. I just wanted to ask our community here for their thoughts on the subject of channel memberships.

I've recently had messages from listeners asking if I have considered creating some kind of membership program via YouTube.

Let me start by saying that a channel membership would not, in any way, replace the video content on my channel. One of the things I love about publishing on YouTube is that the content is free for anybody and everybody to listen to – as often as they want. I'd never want that to change. My videos will continue to be free.

Having said that, I've looked at other hypnotherapists' channels and several offer paid memberships in addition to their regular videos. Being typically English, I'm always wary of being overtly commercial, so I thought I'd ask first if this is something you would be interested in. And if so, what additional content, benefits or services you would find appealing.

For example, some hypnotherapists offer unlimited downloads for offline listening, discounts on one-to-one sessions, daily bonus content, inclusion in credits, etc.

I don't want to put words into your mouth by way of a poll, so would rather hear your own thoughts on what you might find valuable or interesting.

Any feedback greatly appreciated.

As always, thanks to you all for your continued support of my channel. I truly love the positive interactions and engagement we have here.

My best,

Nick
