I got some onions and cabbage cleaned up yesterday evening from my uncles garden. And a couple green tomatoes. I am looking for a good recipe for coleslaw. My grandmother used to make some that was awesome. May have to call grandpa and see if he remembers what she put in hers. I would like to dry the onions into powder but not sure I want that smell in the house all week. Lol. Anyone have anything else they love to make with cabbage and onions?

I've been under the weather for the last several weeks with allergy stuff. I'm finally starting to feel a lot better. Praise God! I hadn't gotten any editing done for a ton of videos in that time. I've just been recording as I can. You may get a whole bunch of shorter ones at once or a couple of longer ones. Which do you prefer?

This is the start of the #MilpaFirstAcre program. We are excited to be part of this program and help feed our community. We tilled 80'x72,' I believe, but you'll have to watch for the updates to find out. It's in the footage. With this program, you pay shipping and handling fees, but the seed is free. They approve you for different amounts based on your land. Our seed cost was just under $15, I think. I'm pretty sure it was $13 and some change. It included the corn seed you see pictured and two 4.5 lb bags of mixed seed. What's in the mixed seed will be in the next post. It only allowed 5 pictures.
With the #MilpaFirstAcre program, you agree to giveaway 50% our your harvest from it to your community. It makes us very happy to be part of this program. I believe the Lord will make this field produce a beautiful bounty to share. We have definitely already put many hours of hard work into it. But we ask the Lord to bless us to keep it up. Amen. #MilpaFirstAcre wants some proof that you do what you say. So I figured this was the best way. I will be posting pictures and videos of our harvests and donations throughout the season. If it produces, I am planning to donate to our local McMinnville Special Games community. They have a food pantry that could use some fresh produce for our families in the community that might struggle from time to time. It's so expensive in the store today for good fresh food that hasn't been processed so many times you don't really know what's in it. Most of it is full of sugar and preservatives, and only God knows what else. That's part of the reason we started gardening on a bigger scale and trying to grow more of our own food. It's more labor-intensive, yes, but I know where my food comes from, and it helps keep our budget lower. We preserve a lot of what we grow, too. Most of us already have other costs from therapies and such. We are hoping to help ease our special needs community's burdens a bit by providing nutritional food to the Special Games Food Pantry. God has a plan. Without him, nothing is possible. I believe their are big things coming. Say a prayer that the Lords will be done.

Look at these beauties. We built enough rings to build 9 beds so far. Still have some leveling to do before they can go in but the ground was still too wet for that. We worked on our big bed out front too. Still filling it up with dirt but the rebar is in to hold it up. #blessed
