I'm forging my own axe! 🪓💫 Attended a master class with the best Ural craftsmen 👉 ‪@urm_anika‬ URM "ANIKA" at the international exhibition "Blade".

The spectacular event ended yesterday and I had the most pleasant impressions. The exhibition is dedicated to knives, axes, camping and hiking equipment. There were a lot of manufacturers from many countries.🌍

Who hasn't been there yet, definitely recommend it!

Few people know about this idea!

Many people know how long it takes to chop a single log, where after each blow,
the split parts fly apart, and they need to be placed evenly again.

And so on until you split the whole log. After all, here, most of the time is spent setting
up the log and its halves for chopping, and lifting and installing them again. This activity is very tiring.

I got rid of it, and thus the injection time decreased significantly!
To do this, I use regular car tires.
I put a block in the tire and then I stab them there, and that's it!

What it gives:

1) When chopping, the halves will not fly apart. Everything you need just walks around
the block, and chop them into the required parts. After splitting, you will simply throw out the finished logs!

2) Your axe will not stick into the ground, but will spring against the edge of the tire,
and the axe blade will not blunt and get dirty on the ground!

3) The chopping process is accelerated at least two to three times!

4) You don't need to "catch the balance" on each half in order to split it!
They will always be in an upright position.

If you haven't tried this method, then be sure to do it.
After all, this is just a miracle way to facilitate such a laborious process!

The three main parameters of a camping axe 🪓

1) The optimal weight of the product. As my practice shows, an axe intended for tourist purposes should weigh no more than 800 grams. This will allow you to actively use the tool without any physical fatigue.

2) The length of the ax handle.
It should range from 70 to 80 centimeters. The discrepancy between these dimensions significantly reduces the applicability of a camping axe. In addition, there must be an egonomic bend at the end of the handle, or a slight thickening – this is necessary for reliable fixation of the product.

3) The handle.
It must be made of durable and treated wood. There are axes where the handle is completely made of plastic, they are not cheap. Yes, plastic is resistant to moisture and temperature fluctuations, but if it breaks down in the field, it will be almost impossible to repair. Therefore, I recommend using a handle made entirely of wood, such as ash.

The best thing for walking in the snow!

Snowshoes are devices that facilitate movement through deep snowdrifts. They consist of a deck, which increases the support area, and a platform to which the shoes are attached.

I attached mine to my shoes with a rope, tying it in a special way. And the deck was made of flexible poles.Take a look at snowshoe making in this Shorts 👉youtube.com/shorts/zvk4Rmpi_u...

The first snowshoes appeared back in the
Paleolithic era, when people first encountered snow drifts.
And today, snowshoes are not only a survival tool, but also a popular outdoor gear that will diversify the winter season with another type of activity and keep your feet dry.😊

Is it interesting for me to show in detail how easy it is to make snowshoes like mine? Write in the comments comment💬

Ancient northern clothing was made from fish skin!
And it's called "Anorak".

For the first time this word appeared in English only in 1924, when the anorak was appreciated by the military for its durability and practicality and began to be used for the British army.

The word and clothes "Anorak" has Inuit roots. The Inuit and Eskimos made hunting clothes similar in cut, made of dense, water-repellent materials, namely the skin of fish and marine animals.

In the second half of the 20th century the functional and windproof properties of anoraks attracted climbers. Following the climbers, the anoraks were noticed by lovers of sea sports, hunters, speleologists, lovers of active tourism and winter skiing trips.

In addition to the fact that the anorak protects from strong wind, rain, and sleet, an additional advantage for me is the large kangaroo chest pocket (in my model there is also a pocket on the stomach), designed specifically for carrying over the anorak backpack. The pocket easily fits: a flintlock, a multitool, a skein of paracord and other useful items for hiking and survival in nature.
