Made my first ham radio contact in 57 days. I’ve been out of the hobby for nearly 2 months.
With work, family and the music (noise making) side of things ham radio took a back seat, sorry folks. Hopefully the weather will change and camping can be comfortable again which is where I enjoy the hobby more. See you soon I hope!

Here's some of the sounds I'm creating for an eventual EP which will feature radio recordings. Not something for everyone on my ham radio channel hence the separate channel.

Hi folks, I'm still here, the weather has been miserable, the Land Rover troublesome and I lost my ham radio mojo for the time being. When it eventually stops raining and the ground finally stops being flooded I hope to get out camping again.
I'm now more of a fair weather outdoors person rather than sit shivering for the sake of a YT video. leave that for the more hardy folks. I've also been focusing on the music side of things with live gigs and what not, might bring elements of sounds composition into the radio or vice versa. See you all soon!

Hope everyone is enjoying Christmas!
I’m making the most of family time before the eldest goes back to University and work starts again!
The rest period will help me recharge my batteries (literally as well as metaphorically!).
Hope to be back with the videos soon if we get a break from the monsoons we’ve had in the UK.

Hi folks I’ve had a very busy week at work since getting back from Iceland so not had the time or energy to play radio esp during the storm, plus it was a HF contest at the weekend.
I’m hoping to throw a camera around this week and play a bit of radio and reply to comments, looking forward to sharing some highlights from Iceland as well.

I’m working away in Iceland next week, I’ve got a video ready to publish where I’m giving away some of the radios sent to me for reviews. I’ll publish end of next week when I can reply to comments. I might get time in Reykjavik for a few photos for Instagram though 👍

Hello, I've got one more video in edit from a quick outing to set up a new antenna then I'm taking a break for a couple of weeks. Nothing but contests on HF these last couple of weeks so I've not recorded any footage and work is very busy with new projects in Iceland and Australia coming up. When I've got something half interesting to show and chat about I'll be back.

Hello, I'm getting a few nice bits of kit being donated to the channel for reviews and exposure etc. This includes antenna kits as well as handheld radios etc. I'm going to be giving these away to new foundation licence holders.
I'll add details of what's on offer on upcoming videos (so please wait for the video) so can you let friends, clubs, ham radio trainers etc know so that we can get the message out. My next video (this week) features ultra portable antenna kits donated by Chris from radio-stuff.com then in a few weeks time I will giveaway some radios and things.

Hello my name is Carl thank you for checking my channel out. I enjoy wild camping (and occasional glamping) in the Peak District. The channel also features outdoor cooking, overlanding in my Land Cruiser and occasionally operating ham radio from remote locations. Hope you enjoy.
I have had an interest in radio since the mid 1980's which shows my age. My interests are working ham radio while portable, chasing satellites and numerous technical aspects of the hobby. Like many I also have a fascination in Space Weather and propagation.
