Okay, TV show idea.
Jim and Pam Halpert move into a new home and are horrified to discover Dwight and Angela Schrute are their next door neighbors.
Worse, Dwight is running for H.O.A. president, threatening stricter community rules. Angela is his terrifying campaign manager.
Jim builds a taller fence to get privacy from Dwight. Dwight retaliates by building a "Perimeter Observation Tower," leading to Cold War dynamics.
Dwight's backyard is full of wild farm animals which Jim frequently pranks (replacing the cow with a paper cut-out, painting the goats like Zebras, etc.)
Their kids are all friends. Michael and Holly Scott living down the street would complete the picture.

If you live in the Nashville area, I will be teaching a seminar this fall on how Jesus saves us. It will cover everything from Christ’s sinless life to his current intercessory work, with a special focus on what salvation will ultimately result in in heaven. I hope it will be encouraging to consider aspects of our salvation we often forget!
We start August 17, continuing each Sunday at 10:45 in Sadler Chapel through November 2. Please join us!

Below is the potential title and table of contents (still a work in progress). Please keep praying through September as I aim to finish—that the Lord would help me write something that truly serves and encourages readers with the enchanting joy of the gospel.

One of the greatest comforts of heaven: we won't be able to sin.
We will confirmed in obedience, like the good angels.
No second fall is possible. We need never fear that we shall grieve God again. Simply glorious.

Would like to ask for prayer for my writing. Over the next three months (July, August, September) I will be doing the bulk of writing for a book entitled Why Christianity Makes Sense. Started writing today and I really believe in the concept. It’s a popular level presentation, akin to C.S. Lewis’ Mere Christianity.
Would appreciate prayer that God would enable me to write a book that serves people and helps them experience the beauty of the gospel. Thank you!

Need some help. I am making a video entitled "Is the Book of Job Evil?" I recall hearing atheists discuss the loss of Job's children as the worst part of the Bible, but I cannot remember where. I want to find this to better understand the concern. Can anyone point me to (a) where this concern has been voiced or (b) helpful responses to it?

Hey friends! Just a reminder that THIS COMING TUESDAY we begin a patron/supporter ONLY book discussion of C.S. Lewis' Mere Christianity. We will meet via zoom Tuesday evenings at 7pm central (five total meetings). It will be great to discuss how C.S Lewis' apologetic from the 1940s is still quite relevant today! His model of blending rationality and imagination is wonderful. If you want to join us, become a monthly supporter (links below, where you find a reading schedule and other details).

A while back I shared I was building a customizable card game based on the Narnia books. Unfortunately, copyright challenges proved insurmountable.
The good news is I have redirected my energies toward building Church History: The Board Game.
It involves spreading churches throughout the world by using theologians, apologists, missionaries, translators, etc. It proceeds century-by-century, overcoming crises like persecution, heresy, schism, plagues, invasions, etc.
I'm just exploring at this point. I will share more as it develops. Would you play a game like this?

Just filmed this! Editing now, out in a few hours. Good thing this topic isn't controversial at all.

Yesterday @JimmyAkin released a video entitled, "I Have More ASSURANCE Than Gavin Ortlund." It is an hour and 13 minute "rebuttal" of a 90 second YouTube short of mine (yes, a 1:13:39 response to a 1:30 short). Unfortunately, Jimmy did not watch the larger video from which my short was extracted prior to making his response, which led to numerous problems.
More concerning, the video focuses on tiny mannerisms of my speech, even to the point of imitating my laugh on multiple occasions, and repeatedly playing a clip of a plosive my mic made to cast me as "dismissive." I attempted to point these problems out, but was met with a response that didn’t really address the concerns. I'm committed to charitable disagreement, but for me that includes standing up for myself when necessary.
If anyone is curious what my actual argument against penance is, they can watch my original long-form video: “Penance: A Protestant Critique.” It’s an hour and six minutes and presents a detailed biblical and historical argument. (The Short being "rebutted" was simply a few pastoral remarks from the conclusion.)
