✨ October Art Haul Vibes! ✨

Calling all art supply lovers, fabric collectors, and vintage treasure hunters—this month’s haul is packed with creative magic!

I’m unboxing the October SketchBox (hello, cotton sketchbook + dreamy calligraphy inks!), flipping through spooky stencils from Stencil Girl’s Halloween club, AND sharing the most gorgeous curated fabric bundles from 1924 Linens & More—mauve + fawn heaven, vintage lace, and ephemera-filled journal sets.

Also snuck in a peek at a beautiful new book all about color palettes that’s giving me so much inspiration right now!

🎨 Mixed Media Playtime! | Watercolor Sampler Joy ✨

Let’s talk about loosening up in the studio...

In this video, I just let go and played—pulling a palette from The Color Cube and building out this abstract watercolor sampler with no rules and no pressure. Layers of Masha’s granulating paints, then marks with NeoColor II pastels, Posca pens, graphite... It’s a total mixed media playground.

It’s not about the outcome—it’s about letting color, texture, and movement guide the way. If you’ve been craving a little creative freedom, come hang out with me and let’s explore together.

Blue + Brown Abstracts: 2 Paintings, 1 Color Palette, Big Results

🎨 In this video, I create two abstract paintings using a limited blue and brown color palette inspired by The Color Cube!

One is a concentric circle piece and the other is a loose, expressive abstract — both using the same mark-making tools: Posca markers, Artx acrylic paint pens, Neocolor II pastels, and a pop of silver for shine.

I also talk about how the Daniel Smith watercolors compare with Masha’s handmade paints to see how the same colors behave across different materials.

If you love mixed media art, experimenting with palettes, or seeing how tools influence results, you’ll love this side-by-side process!

🎨 Playful Color & Texture

Come behind the scenes with me as I bring this 12-piece mixed media sampler to life using the Color Cube palette!

I started with layers of Shinhan Gouache (hello reds, yellows, and greens!) and added shimmering touches of Kuretake gold. Then came the fun part — layering in stencil textures with Blick Matte Acrylics and finishing it all off with Posca pen details in crisp white. These little squares are packed with color, texture, and pure creative joy.

🎨 Granulation, gold, and some good ol’ dots — this stripe painting session was all about play!

I grabbed my favorite granulating watercolors in pinks, purples, and oranges and let them do their thing (hello dreamy blends!).

Once the layers dried, I pulled out my Blackwing pencil, Posca markers, and some Kuretake gold ink to add fancy little details and contrast.

It’s messy, intuitive, and a little magical — just how I like it.

🎨 Layered Circles in Blue + Green 💙💚

There’s just something so peaceful about painting intuitive circles with Masha's watercolors. In this tutorial, I’m layering soft blue and green rings, adding graphite marks with my favorite Blackwing, and then sprinkling in a little shimmer with Kuretake gold ink (because sparkle always feels right, doesn’t it? ✨).

This piece is part meditation, part magic. It’s a gentle dive into mixed media — where watercolor meets drawing and a little metallic flair. If you love slow, process-based art with room to play, come hang out with me and see how it all unfolds.

🎨 Let’s talk COLOR!

I had so much fun playing with Red Medium, Brown, Black, and White from the Blick Matte Paints line in my Dina Wakley Ledger Journal. On one side, it’s all about swatching and discovering new hues. On the other, I dive into an abstract painting using those mixes, layering with stencils and mark-making.

This is one of my favorite ways to explore color harmony—it’s such a satisfying and low-pressure way to build a beautiful spread. If you’re curious about how just a few colors can give you endless variety, come paint with me!

What color combo should I try next? Drop your suggestions below! 👇

🎨 Watercolor Circles & Mark Making 🎨

If you’ve been feeling stuck or craving some intuitive, soul-soothing art play, this one’s for you.

In this abstract watercolor session, I pulled out some of my favorite mixed media goodies—granulating watercolors from Masha, NeoColor 2 pastels, Posca pens, graphite, and a healthy dose of color-loving spontaneity.

Loosely inspired by my Kandinsky Circles piece and The Color Cube, this project is all about layers, play, and letting go of perfection. It’s messy. It’s vibrant. It’s fun. 😍

🎨 Layering Color & Texture in Abstract Art 🎨

Just finished a set of expressive abstracts inspired by one of my Kandinsky master studies—and I’m loving how they turned out! In this little mixed media adventure, I started with bold watercolor washes (thank you, Masha’s paints!) and kept building with NeoColor II pastels, graphite scribbles, and a few shimmery gold touches.

There’s something magical about trusting the process, letting color lead, and following that spark of intuition. ✨

✨ Building Bigger: From Tiny Studies to Bold Mixed Media ✨
Ever wonder how those small art studies can turn into something more? In this new video, I’m showing you exactly how I took my 12-piece sampler and grew it into two expressive mixed media paintings.

Same color palette from The Color Cube—earthy browns, soft oranges, aqua blues, and pops of gold—and lots of layering with some of my favorites:

🎨 Kissho Watercolors
🎨 Blick Matte + Golden Soflat paints
🎨 Stencils, Posca dots, and a whole lot of play

I love how these little studies become creative blueprints for bigger, bolder work. If you’ve been looking to scale up your art or just need a dose of inspiration, this is such a fun place to start!
