So I just got paid £69.03 by YouTube for 4 months work. On the same day, I did a job in my van for £160 for 2 hours work. There's a LONG way to go for YT earnings to catch up, but I'm in this for the long run.
I always promote various videos with my YT earnings. And always have the promotions run on weekends, when traffic is heaviest. These are the 3 vids I'll be promoting in the coming weekends -
1. Medieval Dynasty Ep 8. Why on earth would I promote this? Well, I really thought this was a lovely little series, and deserved more attention. So I'm chucking £20 at it.
2. Alone In The World Ep 5. A marquee episode, I think. I really liked this one.
3. The Mythical Woods Ep 4. This one isn't even up yet! It'll be up Saturday 24th August at 12noon. And I just have a good feeling about it. I think it's a good episode. I'm chucking £30 at it!

Riddle me this. I'm just wondering why I'm now earning LESS per month than I did when I had 1,000 subscribers. My first month with 1k subs, I earned £20. The last month with approaching (or at) 1.5k subs, I earned £17 during the month. I'm not in this for the money - clearly! - but something's not quite right here.
NOT giving up or anything, but it's a bit much. My watch hours have increased, so it's not that. Just a bit frustrating, is all.
FINAL THING. I just applied to be a Giants Partner now I have 1,500 subs. Wish me luck!

An update. I was diagnosed with a chest infection a couple weeks ago. Not Covid after all, but something that lasts a LOT longer, and is a COMPLETE pain in the arse.
What started on 27th March is STILL with me, hence no videos for a while.
But I'm resolved to start back making videos from next week. Maybe 2 a week to start with.

I'm not very well, and videos from me are on hold for a while. I've had Covid for a week now, and now have a terrible cough that just won't go away. Along with (also) some terrible breathing issues each morning.
I can't make videos in this condition, not to mention my enthusiasm for doing anything is greatly diminished due to this illness. I just don't know when I can start again.

I’ve changed my banner and profile pics today, to reflect future changes. In 2 or 3 weeks there will be an evolution of my channel, to try and make it more dynamic.
All FS22 stuff, just a bit of a change.

So I tried to make an episode today. Bavarian Farm Ep 5 (or was it 4?). As soon as I started recording, next door's builders very helpfully started drilling. 2 very loud drills - A SEMITONE APART! Not aurally pleasing. Not at all.
I soldiered on for 1 hour and 20 minutes, when my recording software (Elgato) decided to inexplicably quit, losing everything I'd recorded. I quit at this point.
So not a good day, especially as Bavarian Farm is recorded on the Xbox Series X, where you can't cleverly go back in time to a previous save (unlike the pc).
Sorry there's no episode tomorrow, but it just wasn't my day today!

I’m having a bad week. First I accidentally deleted my TVTOF gameplay file for this week’s video. Then my gameplay file for Court Farm got corrupted and I can’t get it back.
Just so frustrating.
Hence, no videos this week. I just don’t have time to re-record these things. There’s 4 hours of work there I don’t have.
So sorry. Hopefully back to normal next week.

I was SO pleased to get £2 thanks from @Cartech22 yesterday. This YouTube monetisation thing hasn't been going too well, and this really helped. Let me explain -
I was monetised on 16th May this year. A month later, I had earned £20. From 16th June to 16th July, I earned LESS than £20 and both my Patreon Patrons left (no hard feelings from me, by the way - I was so grateful for the support).
Today (26th July), my YT earnings stand at £39.55. I can't get at my YT money until I've earned £60.
I'm putting this up here because I can't justify spending the time to make 4-5 videos a week, like I used to, for such little reward. I enjoy making videos, and 2 a week seems about right - so that's what I'll do from now on. My enjoyment of making videos will lessen if I do more, and I think this will affect the quality of my work. I think this happened with 'TVTOF Ep 18' last week - I felt like that was a bit of a stinker!
Anyway, thanks for reading, and don't forget to click the 'Thanks' button from time to time! It makes a BIG difference.
