This is the information generation. Lahat ng kailangan at gusto natin malaman ay available na sa internet. Along with the information na meron tayo ay ang ingay na narereceive natin from social media, tv, or internet.
Open your Instagram at makikita mo ang lifestyle ng ibang mga tao, sowing discontent in your heart. Manood ka ng mga movies and there will be scenes approving of sex outside marriage. And the Internet is full of false teachings that shows things that are against God’s will.
And because of too much information, hindi na tayo nakakapag-spend ng time para makinig kay God and we seem to hear Him speak less and less.

Jesus modeled how He communicates the gospel to other people. Whether it’s talking to a person (John 4:1-42) or preaching in large crowds (Matthew 9:1-8), His ears are always ready to hear what the people have to say as He shares the good news to them.
And what we can learn from Him is that:
1. He set His mind to listen and not just to speak. Because of this, we can see how Jesus modeled humility despite being the all-knowing God that He is.
2. Jesus intentionally listened to people. He took His time to listen and hear when people call Him just like when He listened to the people when He healed the paralytic in Matthew 9:1-8
3. Jesus also took action when He listened. It can actually be considered as one of the ministries of Jesus. In the New Testament, when Jesus listens to the stories of the people He shared the Gospel to, He follows it up with action - whether it’s healing them or spending time with them like when He attended the Wedding at Cana.

Sometimes, a listening ear does more than a speaking heart.
Sharing the Gospel is a two-way communication. You have to lend your ears before you engage your speaking heart to be able to develop a relationship with the person you are sharing the Gospel to.

Naranasan mo na bang ma-cut off habang nagsasalita ka? Feels bad diba?
How about yung makita mo na napapakinggan ka and naiintindihan? Ang sarap sa feeling!
Oftentimes we think na kapag nag-sheshare tayo ng Gospel is dapat tayo lang ang nag-sasalita. But an important aspect of sharing the good news is listening sa taong kausap natin and understanding where they are coming from!
