Gross, right? 🀒

I know you love your coffee. You need it. You love the ritual. The flavor. The smell. I get it. I really do.

But if you are healing and your body is under stress, adding coffee (regular or decaf) to your system is only going to make things worse....much, much worse.

Many decaf coffees use methylene chloride – a chemical banned in paint stripper! 😳

Even worse, most labels don't have to tell you how it's processed.

If you're working on healing, your body doesn't need any extra toxic load. AND regular coffee is super acidic, which can irritate the gut. Coffee is a stimulant that triggers the release of cortisol, the body's primary stress hormone. While a moderate amount of coffee may not be a major issue for everyone, for someone already dealing with chronic stress or trying to regulate their stress and healing response, coffee can be counterproductive.

More on coffee: Coffee metabolism puts a burden on the liver, which is a key player in detoxification. In individuals with compromised liver function or those actively trying to support detox, coffee may add to the liver's workload. Now, coffee enemas are a different story altogether (and yes, I'm a big fan).

I strongly suggest opting for herbal teas like roasted dandelion root while you're on your health journey.

Share this with someone who is actively trying to heal.

L-glutamine is a super popular gut supplement, but here's the deal: it mainly supports your gut lining. That's good, but it's like patching a hole in a sinking boat if you're not bailing out the water! 🌊

If you want to heal your gut long term, We HAVE to address WHY your gut is leaky in the first place (stress, toxins, etc.).

🚨 And a WARNING: if you have GAD1 mutations (you can determine this through your genetics test), glutamine can actually make things WORSE and be harmful.

Before you supplement, get tested! And remember, true healing is about addressing the why, not just the symptoms.

The worst thing you can do it binge a bunch of gut-lining supplements and hope to heal your leaky gut. It doesn't work that way and I have MANY clients come to me after years of binging "healthy gut" supplements and who end up getting worse.

Want to know WHY it doesn't work? πŸ‘‰ Watch my new YouTube video! -> https://youtu.be/FoJzGyb3MG8

In the video, I cover:

* Do you NEED a leaky gut test? (Spoiler: maybe not)
* Why glutamine isn't always your friend (whoa)
* The REAL leaky gut culprits: Detox, stress, biofilms
* Simple steps to start healing your gut TODAY.

Stop wasting money on the wrong stuff. Learn the truth about leaky gut and how to address it effectively. Click the link and let's get your gut happy. https://youtu.be/FoJzGyb3MG8

Okay, so let's really talk PCOS, because it's not *just* about those cysts. I'm seeing this more and more, even in young girls, which is just heartbreaking. So, what's *really* going on?

PCOS is basically a big ol' hormone mess, and often the biggest troublemakers are androgens – those "male" hormones. We all have them, but in PCOS, they're often way too high or breaking down into toxic stuff. And yes, we do see those cysts – on the ovaries, sometimes the uterus, fallopian tubes – which can mean crazy painful, heavy periods.

Here's the thing I want you to really get: it's not *just* a hormone problem! Your hormones are messed up because your *whole body* is under stress! Think mental stress, toxins, infections...all that stuff throws off your detox pathways, and your body's like, "Forget reproduction, we're just trying to survive!"

Now, PCOS isn't the same for everyone. We see different *patterns*. Sometimes testosterone is high, sometimes it's "normal" but breaking down into the *wrong* metabolites. Estrogen or progesterone can be low OR high! This is why you *need* testing!

Okay, so my PCOS non-negotiables? Here we go:

> 1. Herbs! Herbs like saw palmetto, nettle, pumpkin seed – they can help block those androgens. I use Testa Quench a lot, but there are other options. BUT herbs alone aren't the answer!
> 2. Foundation Labs: Organic acids, blood work, genetics. We've GOT to see the *whole* picture!
> 3. DUTCH Test: This hormone *metabolism* test is a game-changer! (Check out my video for a DUTCH test example!)
> 4. Neurotransmitters: Mood swings, anxiety? Often, it's your *brain*, not just hormones!
> 5. Detox: You HAVE to detoxify hormones properly! Support all 3 phases! (More on this in my book!)
> 6. Mitochondria: Your cells need ENERGY to heal! Mitochondrial dysfunction is super common.

Birth control is often the go-to for PCOS, but here's the thing: it's usually just a band-aid. We need to empower women to really *heal* by finding those root causes! I think our healthcare system needs to do better, and I'm on a mission to make that happen. We've got to stop just masking symptoms and start digging deeper!

Guys, are you struggling with low libido? It's not always as simple as "low T." You often hear about testosterone, but you NEED to know how your body is detoxifying it first! Messing with hormones without a DUTCH test is risky – it can actually lead to toxic metabolites and increase your cancer risk.

Testosterone levels can be a factor, but so can detox issues, diet, and stress. High alpha metabolites are a libido killer.

Your body prioritizes survival over sex. So, chronic stress (work, emotions, toxins, gut problems) messes with hormone balance.

I always start with diet, then Foundation Labs (organic acids, blood work, genetics, sometimes copper zinc) to check neurotransmitters, mitochondria, detox, deficiencies, etc.

We support healing before hormones. Then, Dutch test, herbs, and careful bioidentical hormone use (with retesting!).

We MUST find the cause – no quick fixes that increase cancer risk down the road.

And stress management is VITAL! Both emotional and internal stress (toxins, gut, etc.)

I break down the whole picture in this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzQKwx6ZwF0. If you need help, book a free consult with me (link in bio)

Fasting is a HOT topic, but it's not a magic bullet. I see so many people jump in and actually slow down their healing! Here's the core concept: think of your body as a bank account. To heal, you need to raise that balance.

How? Stop those withdrawals and make deposits. Fasting, even though it has benefits, is a withdrawal. You're stressing your body and depriving it of nutrients it probably desperately needs. Many of us are already deficient and imbalanced!

Healthy fasting is about timing and preparation, and that starts with knowing what's going on inside. I'm talking about getting your Foundation Labs done: Organic Acids, full blood panel, genetics, hormones.

These are non-negotiable. They show what your body needs to repair. You can't just throw fasting at a depleted system and expect miracles. It just doesn't work that way.

You also need to know if your adrenals can handle it (DUTCH test is key!), if your detox pathways are open, and if you have major deficiencies. Fasting can reset your metabolism, immune system, and gut, but it can also backfire big time if your body isn't ready. So, test, support, then fast strategically.

Let's chat about pregnancy and breastfeeding health, because there are some major things to keep in mind and I've been supporting more and more pregnant women recently.

First off, big no-nos: parasite cleanses, heavy metal detox, liver flushesβ€”anything that's a really intense detox. We don't want to be forcing detox while you're pregnant or breastfeeding. It's not the time for that.

But that doesn't mean you can't work on your health! Whether you had issues before or they popped up during pregnancy, there's a lot we can do to support you and your baby.

We just need to avoid anything too harsh. No big die-off reactions, especially from killing off chronic pathogens like parasites, protozoa, or yeast. That stuff can get to your baby, and we don't want that.

So, what can you do? There are some key labs that can give us a lot of info.

Organic Acids Test (OAT): This shows mitochondrial function, neurotransmitter metabolites (which I use with genetics), nutrient deficiencies, and what your detox pathways are up to. We can't heavily detox, but we can support those pathways, which helps your baby too!

Genetics: We want to see what's going on with your neurotransmitters and detox pathways, so we can get you the right nutrient support that's safe for your baby.

Blood work: We need to check thyroid markers, iron, D3, B12, and homocysteine (which is crucial for methylation). And about folate: it's vital, but you need the right form. Methylfolate can cause anxiety, so testing is key!

Copper zinc test: Sometimes this is helpful, to see if you're copper toxic or deficient.

Basically, we want to get a solid foundation protocol in place for pregnancy and breastfeeding.

A note about fatigue: it's common, and it can be from mitochondria or adrenals (we can check those with a DUTCH). But we don't want to mess with your hormones too much during this time. Let your body do its thing, but we can support it.

And a big thing: forget just a prenatal vitamin! The nutrients aren't always in the best forms, and they're all lumped together, so you don't absorb them well. We often pull out minerals like calcium, iron, and copper and take them separately for better absorption.

So, if you want a custom pregnancy protocol, you book a free health consultation on my website (link in bio) We can do just a pregnancy protocol, or you can sign up for my full program and just pause it until you're done breastfeeding.

ALSO --- if you want to watch my mini-video about all this, comment "OH BABY" and I'll send you the link!

Hey everyone, let's get down to what's *really* behind insomnia, because it's so much more than just not being able to sleep. There are *actual* reasons why you're tossing and turning.....or not falling asleep at all.

1. your brain. Imbalances there are a HUGE problem. It could be due to low serotonin, low GABA, and/or low melatonin. Testing (Organic Acids Test & genetics) can pinpoint exactly what your brain needs to get back on track.

2. hormones and adrenals. Progesterone levels often play a big role, so a Dutch test can be super helpful. Also, cortisol spikes are a nightmare! A spike at night? You can't fall asleep. Spike in the middle of the night? You wake up and can't get back to sleep. And that cortisol spike often comes from a dip during the day, so that needs attention too.

3. detox. Your body likes to detox between 2-4 AM. If you're all backed up, guess who's wide awake? This takes time to fix, because you've got to support those detox pathways.

4. your gut. Pathogens there can trigger cortisol spikes and wake you up between 2-4 AM. Again, you've got to rebuild and rebalance before you work on the gut, and when you do, biofilm busters are key.

5. your sleep mindset. THIS IS HUGE. If you're constantly thinking, "I'll never sleep, I'll be exhausted," that's a cortisol trigger in itself. Those thoughts? Gotta address them. (I have bedtime meditation tips in my book!)

Bottom line: We can't just slap a band-aid on this with sleep meds. We've got to find the *root cause*. Those meds create way more problems down the road, and they're a beast to get off of.

πŸ‘‰ If you're running on empty and feel fried from not sleeping, it's time to start taking steps to help you long term. Book a free health consultation with me for support and a clear plan. www.sgintegrativehealing.com

Hey everyone! Let's talk about the *real* thing that might be holding you back from healing, because I know from experience, it's a big one.

When I first got super sick, I was desperate for a diagnosis. I thought a label would give me answers, right? But getting diagnosed with lupus actually made things WORSE. I *became* the disease. It was an excuse, and it took me YEARS to unlabel myself and realize my body was just screaming for attention.

I had to take responsibility. I'd treated my body like crap, honestly. Poor diet, tons of antibiotics... I had to own that.

And a HUGE key to that was a mindset shift.

So, here's what I want you to do: Set BIG goals. Not just "I wish I had energy," but "I AM free from ALL my health issues, FOREVER." You've got to BELIEVE it.

Change your language! Instead of "I have lupus," it's "I am healing from lupus," and eventually, "I am pain-free, I am healthy, I am full of energy." Own it! Visualize it!

Then, connect with your BIG "why." What will you DO when you're healthy? What motivates you? Kids? Travel? Hobbies? SEE yourself living that life!

When I was sick, I never thought I'd have a baby. But I started visualizing it, along with seeing myself pain-free and full of energy. I also visualized running and training my dogs, even competing at the World Agility Championships! And I hate winter, so I'd see myself traveling south with my dogs.

Do this twice a day: morning and night. Yeah, it sounds simple, but it lights a FIRE under you. It fuels your desire to heal. Doors start opening.

Before, I was chasing my tail, wasting money, and still suffering. But when I shifted my mindset, things changed. I invested in myself, found the root cause, and healed.

And guess what? All those goals are coming true!

So, what can you afford to lose? More suffering? Missing out on life? Just try this exercise. It takes five minutes. Visualize BIG. I know you can do this!
