Hey everyone,
I took down todays video because of the majority of negative comments and reception it received.
I’ve taken note of your feedback, particularly regarding the vocal leveling and I'm working on a new version for those who want to hear Lollia better in the mix. I spent hours meticulously automating vocal levels over the course of the 9 minute song and tested the song on multiple systems, and had many trusted musicians listen to it and give feedback. I was really passionate about making this one stand out, so it's really tough to get so much backlash about the production, especially after releasing it in a state I'm proud of. While it disheartens me that I couldn't bring you guys a version of this amazing song mixed at the high quality I strive for, I'm very grateful for your constructive criticism.
That being said, I want to take this opportunity to say that I'm disheartened to see so many people in my comments who have said hurtful things specifically about the talented and gracious vocalists I bring on this channel. I'm immensely fortunate to know so many amazingly top-tier singers and they all offer something naturally unique and interesting to each cover. When I bring vocalists or collaborators on this channel, I see them as a guest and it's important to me that they feel supported and respected here.
Constructive criticism has been a vital part of my growth as a musician, but over the years, especially with songs I've had guest vocals on, there have been a disproportionate amount of feedback that lacks empathy and respect for the artist. I'd like this to change. Your support and respect for all artists on this channel are really important in making this the welcoming space I've worked to cultivate over my 13 years of being on YouTube.
