What’s up YouTube fam! In case y’all were wondering, I’ve been working on a firefighter workout program!

Details about the upcoming program:

For those that are interested in the upcoming firefighter program; the training you see in the video will have a similar structure to the workouts you’ll see in the program.

It’s simple training but it will get the job done. Barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, sandbags, resistance bands, sleds, and possibly mace/clubbells will be implemented.

I’ll say this as well; every program is flawed. Don’t expect it to be the perfect workout plan. Everyone has different needs. You may be older firefighter and probably can’t do as much explosive work, or you may be younger and want to do more of that. I have to keep this in mind when making this program.

I’ll say this. My programs are easily tweaked if necessary. If it works for you, stick with it. If it doesn’t, modify it. But I will definitely put 100% effort and 9 years of firefighting experience into this program.

Worst case scenario, you’ll actually learn a few things along the way.

I used to avoid taking action because of the fear of failure. Now I welcome it. Lose/fail as much as you can. Build that pain threshold.

New business? Quitting your job? Moving out of state?
.
Don’t hesitate. The faster you move, the quicker you’ll know what works and what doesn’t.

The only true failure is never trying at all.

These are the movements I used to get started in my fitness journey. Very minimal equipment.

- Pull Ups. I would literally go to the park and find a tree branch.
- Muscle ups
- Handstand Push ups
- Hill Sprints
- Weighted Jump Squats
- Chop wood
- Single Leg (Bulgarian split squat, lunges)
- Jump Rope
- Burpees
- Push Ups
- Planks
- Jumping

If you’re just starting your fitness journey, looking for a new way to spice up your routine, or you just don’t have money for equipment/gym membership; this is your meat and potatoes.

Three free workouts from my BBB (Bags, Bells, and Bodyweight) E-Book

Workout 1:
- Perform the complex for a total of 5 rounds, resting 1-2 minutes between each round:

1. Double Kettlebell Clean & Press x 1-5 reps (ascending ladder 1-2-3-4-5)
2. Sandbag Carry x 50 meters
3. Pull-ups x 10-2 reps (descending ladder 10-8-6-4-2)


Workout 2:
- Perform for a total of 5 rounds, resting 1-2 minutes between each round:

1. 20 Sandbag Bear Hug Squats 
• Add a 10-meter Carry after every 5 squats.
2. 15 Double Kettlebell Push Press
3. 10 Toes-to-bar
4. 5 Pull-ups
• Add a 3-second at the top of every pull-up.


Workout 3:
- Perform for a total of 5 rounds, resting 1-2 minutes between each round:

1. 100-meter Sandbag Shoulder Carry (50 m. Each shoulder)
2. 20 Single Arm Kettlebell Overhead Reverse Lunges (10 each arm)
3. 15 Sandbag Floor Presses
4. 10 Sandbag Row

I feel like being generous. Here’s a SB/KB/BW Complex:

Double KB Clean 10
SB Bear Hug Carry 100ft.
BW Waking lunges (back to the kettlebells)
Double KB Push Press 5
Double KB Swing 5

5-7 Rounds. 2-3 min. Rest

Use appropriate weight that will challenge you with the prescribed reps.

If you want a MINIMAL way to train the way I do, without doing all of the extra crazy shit, use these 3 movements:

1. SB Bear Hug Squat
2. SB Bear Hug Carry
3. Sprint (I like hill sprints)

You’ll get crazy results with just these three movements. Strength, power, conditioning, and lean muscle! Ease into it of course.
