Hey, for anyone unaware, all the improvement hacks and mods I've made a video of are on this playlist so you won't have to hunt the videos down.

A good example of some of the stuff that's on there? The Yoshi's Island DS SNES Music Hack, Color Palette Restoration hacks for GBA ports, "DX" color hacks that add color to original GB games (like Pokémon Red and Blue!) and English translations for games originally in Japanese.

Hope you give it a looksee and find something you like!

The e-Reader level cards weren't all that mattered about Super Mario Advance 4's e-Reader compatibility; there were other things as well!

The video below contains a pre-made save file where I manually scanned in everything you need so that you can enjoy a standard main game playthrough with tons of changes to the levels and game mechanics thanks to the e-Switches and exclusive Power-Ups.

Do give it a look-see if you want to play through the main game (or even the e-Reader levels themselves to some degree) with an extra twist!

To raise awareness of this excellent hack, I'd like to call attention to it! If you ever weren't much of a fan of Yoshi's Island DS's music, despite enjoying the game mechanics to any degree, this is for you. This recreates the music from the original SNES game using the instruments from the DS game, and it's really impressive. Please give it a shot!

If you're in the mood to try Metroid Fusion, why not give this hack a look? If you're playing it for the first time, you might have heard about how difficult it is, but if you just want to play the story, you could use the Easy mode; or if you want a greater challenge you could use Hard mode, which should be unlocked after clearing the game on Normal once. Those modes are normally exclusive to the Japanese version.

Do you really want to play Super Metroid, but you just can't get totally used to the controls since run, jump and fire are all on separate buttons? Can't get used to pressing Select to constantly cycle between your standard beam and other weapons?

There's a hack to help with that. You can turn on an autorun feature, and hold a button down to use your missiles and other weapons, just like in the GBA games. There's even a separate one that will change the physics on Samus to match the GBA games better, though that isn't shown here.

The video also links to a couple other convenience patches that can be applied to help better your experience, such as needing only one missile to open a missile door, and making sure you can't get stuck in the final area, since the final save point locks you in to Tourian.

Everyone's on the Metroid hype train lately, so I'm sharing this! If you would rather play the original Metroid 2, and not the remakes, then there's a hack that will allow you to enjoy it more without jeopardizing the atmosphere of the game.

You can play the game in full color with this hack! The backgrounds will remain all black in order to keep the dark isolating atmosphere of the original game, which the remakes try to capture but couldn't truly 100% replicate.

I know Nintendo recently released Panel de Pon on the Nintendo Switch Online - SNES App. For those not in the know, it's the Japanese version of Tetris Attack, which would later go on to be made into Pokémon Puzzle League and so on. They likely couldn't release Tetris Attack due to the issues regarding the Tetris name and brand, so they just released the Japanese version instead.

Anyways, there actually is an unofficial English translation for the game, so if you're wondering just what the heck these fairy girls are saying, you can get a looksee with this video from a while back. It should also help you navigate the menus if necessary.

Did you ever feel like Super Mario Bros. in Super Mario All-Stars felt like the physics were off, or like you couldn't do quite the same things as the NES version? Check out this comparison video showing a hack that fixes the problem. The video description also contains a link to the patch.

After finding this patch I never want to go back to the vanilla game, so maybe this will help you as well. I installed this version onto my hacked SNES Classic.

I want to show off this hack soon; if you've played this game but without the color I would recommend looking up this hack too!
