Today is the fourth anniversary of the uploading for the first four Tax Geek videos. And as is end-of-year tradition, I've uploaded a new video detailing what's new and what's changed for the 2024 tax year.

ALERT! A Federal Judge in Texas has issued an injunction prohibiting enforcement by FinCEN of the Corporate Transparency Act requiring businesses to submit Beneficial Ownership Interest Reports by January 1, 2025, believing the Act to be unconstitutional. This injunction is subject to further judicial review, but for now, LLCs and small corporations do not have to comply. They should, however, be prepared to file if the injunction is lifted.

As we head into December, I would like to remind anybody that has a corporation or LLC granted by your state to provide Beneficial Ownership Information to the Financial Crimes Reporting Network (FinCen). It just takes a few minutes and the only thing you'll need is a picture of a photo ID for each beneficial owner. You'll find more information here:

The channel is rapidly approaching 10,000 subscribers, and I'll be producing a special video for the occasion.
