New Video on Patreon!
Get an exclusive look at a historical building site where professional craftsmen work together with a huge group of volunteers to recreate a ring fortress from the Viking Age. I had the chance to visit in May and get a good look both from the ground and from the sky. This is truly a on off chance to witness history coming alive in front of your eyes.
You do not have to be a paying Patreon member to watch the video - all you need to do is to sign in for free and you can get a glimpse of the RAMUNI Patreon Community. As we speak I am adding the final touches to the next video in the House Build Series that will be ready here on Youtube in a few days. Stay safe - and see you soon / Rasmus

Just a short update to let you know where we are:)
Last month has been busy. Work, family holiday, a lovely trip to Hedeby, work and more work. And meanwhile the weather has not been kind at the same time as I had time to film. But that is sometimes the way things are and it is ok. So I have had some time to plan a little ahead on the Viking House Build and I Hope to have two more videos out from this project before Winter and by that finnish the two lower side walls. There is a lot of work involved in the these steps so for once some planning seems like a good idea.
I Will be back soon and if you did not already watch the short video from our trip to Hedeby a few weeks ago check it out here:

Last weekend I finally got the chance to visit the Museum at Hedeby (Haithabu).
A lot of my gear is based on the finds from the trading town and I have studied the finds in books and through reconstructions and practical experiments. It was so fascinating to get a chance to see the real artifacts displayed and be able to move around them and observe the details up close in person. I am sure you might recognize some of these objects from my videos?
In a few days I hope to be able to take you all along a relaxing and ambient trip to Hedeby:)
If you want to discover more I can recommend these among my older videos:
This video is about making the comb: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Thdql...
In this video I use the antler clamp/vise: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Nov0...
In this video you see me with the bird plate: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1OaV...
Here you see me use the flint striker:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhBP3...
Here I am making a replica of the decorated antler handle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgJ5G...

I took a break from house work (both the viking house and our modern house). We went to live in the reconstructed Viking village at Hedeby in Northern Germany and spend the weekend with good friends and new friends. Cold nights, sunny days, good food, laugter and enjoying all our kids playing together. I had not planned to film or make video, but I could not resist to shoot some athmosphere, ambience and random everyday bits here and there. I am not sure how to put it together but I promise to take you along in the near future. See you soon:)

Some weeks ago I had a chance to Finnish up some tools in my Workshop. I made the saw blade myself but all the other blades, chisels and drill is made by skilled blacksmiths. But I love to take my time and make nice handles, sheaths or blade protectors. I love sharp edges and I love to protect them and keep them sharp inside my toolbox. And just as this set of tools were done I received a package by mail:) more about that later.
