🚨IMPORTANT CHANNEL UPDATE🚨
Hey everyone, just a couple of things I wanted to share and talk about. Please read if you have a moment.
First of all, I've not been....well. I'm not talking about flu, covid or anything like that though. I wont go into the details right now as most of you already know the situation but for those of you who don't know, I'll simply say that I have quite strong Fibromyalgia (which has lead to many other problems), so feel free to look it up if you want to know more.
I've been struggling for the past 3ish weeks and I honestly havent played many games or done much of anything except rest. Its hard to explain how things feel for me but its not pleasant and gaming simply isnt possible sometimes. The condition has been getting worse for years now and its actually why I created the channel in the first place. I simply cannot do standard work but I CAN do some things from home, like my channel. Sadly even this is becoming difficult. I'm not fishing for sympathy or trying to gain "pity views", I'm really just trying to be honest and explain what's going on.
Now, you may have noticed that my uploads havent changed, I havent stopped uploading. Well, that's because I had some videos made and ready to go. In-fact, I'm currently doing my best to play games, and work on new reviews. I'm playing Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, Samurai Maiden and I have 2 review codes for other games that I cant talk about yet. I've got all the gameplay vids I need but I have to start writing my scripts and recording the voice over. I'm just not sure that I can right now, and after 2 years of doing this, that reality upsets me.
I have one more video uploaded and ready to go which is a review for the recent re-release of Goldeneye 007. That will be released in about 5-6 days. After that..... I'm not sure what'll happen. I absolutely dont want to stop, I love gaming, the channel is growing, I enjoy doing this, I REALLY enjoy engaging with you all but I just dont know. I'm very unwell, my day to day private life is becoming more difficult every year due to my health situation and its as simple as that. Its literally, no word of a lie, at the point where playing video games and typing is causing painful issues.
I dont know what else to say but I will do my best to continue the channel and to get some stuff produced by the time another upload is due. Just to clarify, I'm NOT shutting down the channel or quitting unless I'm absolutely forced to. Thank you for ALL of your support thus far. Thank you to every single one of you who watches, likes, subscribes, donates or simply chats to me in the comments section. I'm sorry that this is a super heavy post but it really needed to be explained now, just incase anything happens.

🚨SAMURAI MAIDEN REVIEW UPDATE🚨
Hey everyone, hope all is well wherever and whoever you are!
I have an update on the review for Samurai Maiden (PS5). The game finally showed up today even though it was released on December 2nd 2022. I'm just about to start playing it but I'm not 100% sure when the review will be published. This is because I'm starting Hogwarts Legacy tomorrow (Feb 7th) and I have about 3-5 review codes on the way for various titles (assuming all is well). I normally go for 1 video per week at the moment but considering how many games are releasing, I may just "no life it" for Feb-March haha! We'll see how it goes!

🚨INFORMATION REGARDING MY "SAMURAI MAIDEN" REVIEW🚨
Hey everyone.
The PS4/Switch game, Samurai Maiden, released around December 8th 2022. I was planning to play it and of course, review it. A few of you have asked about it here and on Twitter so I thought I'd briefly explain the situation.

I rarely post any actual "comments" on anything, I usually just throw my reviews out there with links back to YouTube.
Back to Samurai Maiden though. I did apply for a review code but I was told that they had a lot of interest and didn't have any left to give. This is fair, I don't EXPECT to be given ANY codes, so I do understand it when It doesnt happen. As many of you know, I do not like buying digital only releases as I dont want to support/ normalize it. Samurai Maiden IS available to me right now digitally but I am 100% not buying it that way. The only physical edition of the game exists, as you might expect, in Japan. So, a few months ago, I ordered a physical copy from Play-Asia AND I paid for the super-fast 5 day International Shipping. Unfortunately, I ordered another item on the same order which was supposed to release BEFORE Samurai Maiden but got delayed and as such, has delayed the dispatch of my game as well.
So basically, my game is sitting in their warehouse, awaiting the other item to come into stock, so that they can be dispatched together. It simply is what it is and there's not really anything I can do about it, especially considering the postal strikes here in the UK. It looks like I'll get the game some time in mid-late January 2023 at which point, I'll still review it if you'd like to see it? I've also heard about some possible censorship in ALL versions of the game so that's something I'll have to look into as well.

Hey everyone, I'll try to keep this as short as possible but lets face it, we all know how that's gunna turn out😂
OK so first of all, depending on when you see this or where you live, December 2nd 2022 marks/marked 2 full years on YouTube. I wont go on and on about it but I still want to thank you all for the support, the kind words, the encouragment, the views, the donations and for being here at all. I could post 1000 videos but they really mean nothing without all of you watching them. So once again, thank you all so much and I'll end this section with a small selection of stats from the last 2 years that I'm very proud of:

Next, I wanted to let you know what to expect on the channel over the Holidays this year. As of right now, which is either 2nd or 3rd December depending on where you are, I have 8 videos planned to release over Christmas and early New Year. They're all reviews and 2 of them are from review copies that I've been given by publishers. The rest are all recent/ new releases that I purchased myself.
I'm going to be working hard on all of these videos for the first 2 weeks of December. I'm essentially going to be making these videos back to back and I hope to have them ALL uploaded and ready to go between 12-14th of December. Then, I'll have a break from content creation until the New Year, although you guys probably won't notice any change. I'll still be replying to people in the comments and of course checking on the channel each day, I just wont be actively MAKING anything because they will have all been made upfront. I have a lot of movies to watch, miniatures to paint, board/card games to play and of course, lots of rest to have.
Speaking of videos, I just posted my review of "Evil West" which I've attached to this post. Honestly, I KNEW this was going to be a very niche game/review but I did expect a BIT more interest than it got. As I always say, if you dont want to watch it then please dont feel like you have to. That said, if you missed it and want to check it out, please do. I honestly thought it was a great game and I'd love to get more people to give it a try.

Hello...
I genuinely hope everyone is safe and well tonight.
Earlier today I learned that Jason David Frank, who was known for playing Tommy Oliver in Power Rangers, took his own life at the age of 49. As someone who grew up watching this man, and as someone who struggles with the concept of mortality, this hurts.
I've met a few of the original actors at conventions but I was never able to meet JDF, and now I never will. If you've followed his career you'll know that he wasn't a perfect human being, but lets face it, who is? I'm certainly not.
Some of you might not have heard of him, but he was a super hero to me growing up, and he always will be.
Once a Ranger, Always a Ranger.
RIP.

Hey everyone!
In case you missed it, my Sonic Frontiers review is now live on the channel! I ended up posting it quite late at night due to some technical issues and because I spent some time trying to improve the voice-over sound quality. I think it sounds really good now but let me know what you think!
I just wanted to put this post out there incase any of you missed the upload. Obviously, if you're NOT interested in Sonic Frontiers you can feel free to skip the video. I was thinking there might be a bit more interest in this than there's been so far but again, I posted the video really late last night, so some of you may not have seen it yet.
Regardless though, I'm going to be taking a few days break from gaming until the 18th, which is when Pokemon Scarlet & Violet releases. That game should be the next review on the channel so look out for that! It may end up being a slightly larger gap between the Sonic video and the Pokemon video but that's just due to the release dates.

An update on the Sonic Frontiers review.
I'm still hoping to get it uploaded tonight but I ran into a minor issue with the main voice-over file. I'm not sure what happened but it sounds real bad. If I can't fix it, I may have to spend a few hours re-recording the voice-over and then re-editing the video. If that's the case it'll have to be uploaded tomorrow.
Don't get me wrong, I know that you guys aren't exactly sitting at your computers refreshing my channel and waiting for a new review to appear haha🤣. I just felt like I should at least mention the situation out of respect.
I'm generally following the "1 video per 7 days" rule at the moment. That said, there will be times were its maybe only 5 days between videos OR, it could actually be more than 7 depending on when the games release/ when I get hold of them. Basically, I'm going to thoroughly play the stuff I'm really interested in, take my time with the reviews and they'll be ready when they're ready. This approach seems to be working really well so far so I'll keep with it for now.
A quick example would be: Sonic Frontiers will go up tonight or tomorrow (13th/14th Nov) but the next game I'm reviewing isn't released until the 18th. SO, I'll be taking a roughly 3-4 day break from gaming (14th-18th) to recharge. There's just no point starting a new review/game because I wont be able to fully play it and make a review in that time.
TLDR: Sonic Frontiers review coming tonight or tomorrow. I don't have a set schedule for posting videos except for roughly 1 per week. Could be 5 days between videos, could be 7, could be 9. It all depends on when games release and how long it takes me to play them. No more rushing to publish (unless I have a game early and there's an embargo/ deadline).
I'm really happy working like this and I can't explain how much better it feels. I was happy before but this works so much better for me, especially with my medical conditions and whatnot. I think the newer videos quality, the view counts and your feedback says it all so, this is how it'll continue.😊

Hey everybody!
Just to let you know that the full review for Sonic Frontiers should be released on Sunday (13th Nov).
As of right now, I have 100% completed the game and I've got the Platinum Trophy on PS5. I started writing the script earlier today and it'll be finalized tomorrow. After that, I just need to record the voice-over and put the video together ready for upload.
I have to say, I'm really enjoying the new schedule that I mentioned a little while back. Creating my videos feels like an actual professional production now, at least in terms of how I manage my time. I get to fully experience every part of the game without having to rush which is incredibly important. I've also got space to breathe and do a 1st and 2nd draft of the script which I think has had a positive impact on my latest videos.
Do Not Buy - Warhammer 40K: Inquisitor Martyr: Ultimate Edition and the review for Star Ocean: The Divine Force did very well on the channel, more so than I would have thought. Those 2 videos were definitely better quality AND, they were seen by more people than 4-6 smaller rushed reviews could have ever reached. Thank you all for giving me the space to learn and improve, its greatly appreciated!

🚨REGARDING - GOD OF WAR: RAGNAROK🚨
Hey everyone, hope you're all well. The reviews are starting to land for the eagerly awaited God of War Ragnarok and I just wanted to quickly set some expectations.
I will not be buying, playing or reviewing the game at all...
I understand that its a huge release and lots of people are rightly excited for it. To be honest, you should be! I sincerely hope that anyone who picks it up has fun with it. Unfortunately, GOW/ Kratos has never meant anything to me and I have barely any history with the series so, not to sound harsh, but I have zero interest in the new game.
I've played a good chunk of GOW: Ascension and I beat GOW2018, but that's it. I thought 2018 was fine although I was about done with it half-way through. I decided to ignore everything I could and just make a rush to the end so with that in mind, I dont think Ragnarok will be my cup of tea. I have nothing against it, nor the people who love it, its just not for me.
Anyway, I also wanted to tell you that I'm currently putting together my review for Star Ocean: The Divine Force and it should be ready in about a day or so.

Warhammer 40K: Inquisitor Martyr - Ultimate Edition *UPDATE*
Hey everyone! For those of you who're interested, I have an update regarding this game and its current state.
As you may know, I suggested that players save their money and not purchase this *upgrade* on the PS5 console. This suggestion doesn't really apply to the Xbox Series X version of the game OR the PC version (obviously). In my video I explained that the game was running VERY poorly on the PS5 and it was close to be unplayable. People have different tolerances for these things and I'm usually not too fussed about 30fps games, but this titles performance is exceptionally bad right now.
To break it down:
The new PS5 version was supposed to include Native 4K Resolution, 60fps Gameplay, Improved Textures, Better Lighting and access to an upcoming character class. As far as I'm concerned and to my eyes, it fails on virtually all of this (except the character for obvious reasons). I've compared both versions of the game on my own, one after the other and I will say, the resolution IS better on PS5 and you CAN tell. Everything else is either roughly the same or worse though. The PS5 version is still running at what seems like SUB 30fps with constant screen tearing and enviroments that "wobble".
I downloaded the old PS4 version for the comparison, when you play the PS4 version on a PS5 there's actually a special patch that helps the game take advantage of the extra power in the PS5. Its important to note that this version IS NOT the new PS5 version as some people have thought. You don't patch the PS4 version INTO the PS5 version, they are completely separate apps. So when playing the PS4 version on the PS5 with the special patch, it runs at what I would estimate to be around 40-50fps which feels pretty smooth, although the resolution is noticeably lower. It also seems like it has less AA (anti aliasing) as well. That said, the PS4 version of the game feels and plays so much better on the PS5 than the new dedicated PS5 version, which is ridiculous.
TLDR: If you own a PS5 and you're desperate to play the game, I would 100% recommend buying the PS4 Complete Edition and playing THAT version on your PS5 instead (at least at this moment in time). It runs better and is usually much cheaper. The Xbox Version seems to be fine.
I have both versions installed on my console so, I'll keep my eye out for any updates to either version and let you guys know if anything changes. This "Do Not Buy" has done pretty well on the channel, so thank you to my existing viewers for giving it a look and also, thank you to the new subscribers that found me via this video.
