FISHING Reports 26/12/2024
Here’s a quick recap of the fishing reports from around the bays for the week of December 26, 2024. If you’re planning a fishing trip in the next few days, check out these hot spots where the fish are biting:
1. Rye Pier: This spot has been on fire for squid and King George whiting! Mornings are the most fruitful, with plenty of calamari and some arrow squid being caught during slack tide. Plus, there’s a good number of Tommy ruff around—using small pieces of silverfish under a float seems to do the trick!
2. Flinders Pier: Expect to catch a good number of smaller squid, with some larger ones still mixed in. Whiting and a few salmon are also making an appearance.
3. Balnarring Beach: The night fishing here is excellent, with plenty of whiting and gummy sharks being caught.
4. Mt Martha Rocks: This location is yielding great numbers of squid, whiting, and pinky snapper.
