Wrapped up the last details on the 8-foot steel Iron Giant I built mostly from old scrap tanks. Now, as I crate him up, I’ve got to admit—I’m a bit sad to see him go.
He’s been hanging out in the shop for the past year—my go-to project whenever I needed a break or was stuck waiting on materials. Felt like he was always there, quietly keeping watch while I worked. Now this big chunk of ironic metal is heading out the door.
But he did his job. Helped fund the panel furniture delivery truck build and taught me a ton in the process. If I ever build another, it’s gonna be even better.
Time to say goodbye—and on to the next project.

It's that time of year when people are interested in outdoor entering ideas so I wanted to share this great deal on an outdoor fire pit! (Not sponsored)
I recently got one from Costco that I'm really happy with, and they just dropped the price by $50! If you don't have a Costco membership, there's just a 5% fee, which comes to about $20, and they offer free shipping.
Assembling it was pretty straightforward too. The only thing you need to do is put together the propane storage box and hook up the line. It took me maybe 10 minutes, and I was good to go.
The only downside for me was that the line is only 10ft long. I would have preferred a 15ft one, but it still works fine!
From ordering to delivery was 6 days!
