Just about finished getting a few things wrapped up in my personal life and going to get back to fishing hardcore starting in September.

The last weekend in August I'll be doing a kids catfish derby at Berlin lake and camping with friends.
Labor day weekend I'll be out on Erie for a day vertical jigging for walleye and freshwater drum with Matt and maybe doing a catch and cook video with a small drum.
The following weekend Jimmy and I will be taking my boat for a weekend trip on the Ohio River for s multi species trip exploring the river in a boat for the first time.
The next two weekends I'll be targeting musky, casting for them mainly. One local maybe two camping trips at different lakes, Westbranch, Leesville and Saltfork are the lakes of choice.
The first weekend in October I'll be camping at Pymatuning jigging for walleye, jumbo perch and musky casting.

Then..... Then begins the lake Erie fall brawl and walleye slam tournaments, WHICH I DID ENTER into both of this year.
On the calmer water weekends Dan Snow and I will be taking the boats out with people chasing the biggest walleye in the great lakes amd on the rough water nights you'll find me on a rock pile somewhere along the shoreline.
When the derby ends its time for steelhead on Sundays and praying for good ice this winter!

I've got some great fishing plans setup and hopefully some super fishy content for you folks!

Hoping for a 50" musky and placing in the walleye tournamentsas this is the first competitive fishing event I've ever joined.

If ya ever see me or my friends out on the eater, say hello, always great to meet nice people and talk a little about fish.

Studying depth topo maps on bodies of water you aren't familiar with is a key element to having a successful fishing trip.
Looking for humps, holes, drop offs, flats, points, current.
It all adds up and if you aren't studying a body of water as such before you hit it, you need to be.

Since I finally have a boat I can comfortably take on bigger water, I've spent a few hours tonight checking out different stretches of the Ohio river in eastern Ohio using navigation depth maps and Google satellite.
Found the boat ramps to areas I want to fish and definitely Found some spots that look much more appealing than long stretches of flat dead water.
I finally started exploring the Ohio river with friends from shore under several dams last year and had a blast catching multiple species of fish but now I'm excited to make a little wake on the river.

If you're interested in checking out some of your favorite bodies of water, here's a free link to scroll around them and satisfy your curiosity, it's a tool you should add to your digital tackle box.

Went to Erie Marine sales today to drop off the Hummingbird for them to install on my new boat, its a Starcraft freedom 180 tiller.
. Boy oh boy am I ready to pick this up and get it out on the water! Having my first "nice" boat is really going to open up some opportunities for me.
It has a 90hp main, having a 9.9 hp kicker added, Hummingbird helix 10 mega Si+ and a 112 thrust 36v terova added.
Been picking up some planer boards, trolling rods and folbe rod holders.
Kicker won't be in yet but next weekend I'll be down at Caesers Creek lake for 6 days on a camping trip.
Next year I'm going to offer guided trips on our reservoirs targeting musky, walleye, saugeye, catfish or panfish, whatever the client wants. Want to fish for a trophy or try and fill a cooler up with a mixed bag of what Ohio has to offer. Since I got a tiller it should be perfect for taking 2 people out with all the room they want.
Not sure about Erie yet as I need to look more into what is required legally.

Should be putting out some great footage soon and the fall fishing in this boat is going to be FANTASTIC!

The photo was supposed to be edited into the video during Ray's battle with the flathead on his light tackle but I guess I missed adding it during editing.
I'll admit I'm not the best editor and my clips sometimes get a little jumbled as they don't transfer in perfect order and u do all this from my phone. I absolutely dislike editing and getting it done during my short shift breaks while out on the road is tough but I do what I can. Hope yall enjoyed the saltfork trip, even though I didn't get a musky, I had such a wonderful time getting out there with the boys and enjoying the natural world away from the hubbub of modern life.

I was going to make a steelhead episode on my day off tomorrow but while I was swapping trailers tonight before heading home, this company left and locked me in!!!!
I've definitely been working to much to try and get ahead, this is really icing on the overworked cake.
Next weekend I'm not working and will make a n episode somewhere.

Thinking I'm going to Pymatuning tomorrow and pushing myself through this illness. I haven't fished in a month letting my leg heal and haven't ice fished since 2022. I'm definitely sick AF but I NEED to get out during this brief window I have to ice fish.
I doubt I'm going to make to 1/2 mile drag out to the humps as I'm just to weak but I'm pretty sure I can do the 1/4 mile drag out to 16' and setup for the day.

Seems we finally have a decent blast of winter coming out way and by next weekend should have a few inches on some of the smaller lakes and big lake bays. Personally I'll be out targeting giant redears on a particular bay I know they stack up in during winter. Maybe the following weekend targeting eyes on a larger reservoir if the freezing temps hold.
My knee is far from fully healed but I've taken a month off fishing and its ready for a little stress, I won't be doing any mile long drags to a few of my favorite flats but Iay be able to pull a few fish out.
Who else is finally looking forward to some ice as I didn't get to go last year during the 1 week we had of sketchy ice.

Fishing somewhere new, making a plan of attack on a different body of water?
Here's a free nautical depthcart of most publicly accessible waters that can be extremely beneficial and one I use all the time.
I've personally found it to be accurate on all the places I fish.
Hope it helps you folks out in 2024!

No fishing show this week, I damaged my leg much worse than I thought during the NY fishing trip and have not been allowing it to heal, so I painfully opted our of fishing last weekend.
It was tough!

I'll get out this weekend though for a trip that's not to rough on my leg. I'm thinking steelhead, or Erie walleye but I also have a desire to hit the Ohio river.

So many bodies of water, so few days off work.
