There might be some new Krushed Opiates music coming out, (the band, not the YouTube channel). I was finally able to get my original tracks moved from Cakewalk/Sonar to Reaper.

This new development has sparked my interest in remixing and creating new music. The last new song from KO was in 2003.

I am thinking of a KO release with remixes and some new material.

I am open to remixes from other artists and if you would be interested, email KO using our bandcamp contact (link below this paragraph). I'm not putting up a plain text email address. Tell me what song you want to remix, what format you want it in and where I should send it. I can do a raw sample folder, Reaper project and Sonar/Cakewalk bun files (which open into a projects).

Any interested labels contact us the same way.

Almost 500 followers! Wow, I never expected any.

I'm extremely flattered, mostly because this was setup to be a playlist I listened to either commuting to work or playing video games. It came as a shock to me that my taste in music would be shared by so many!

I'm just posting songs that move me and plan to continue to do so for quite a while (I have a huge collection, lots of very hard to find stuff I got from other artists or record companies).

I avoid posting song that are already on YouTube 30x, the exception being if it's a great song and it's mixed poorly. I will put in the effort to "modernize it".

I really like taking some of my favorite songs and making them sound current. It's very satisfying and you hear more of the song since it's not buried in a bad mix.

To all that follow me and to those that just come by for a listen, thanks for helping keep these tracks relevant and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

I would also like to address the question I get every now and again. Why is your site called "Krushed Opiate Music"?

In the 90's and beginning of the 2000's I was in a group called "Krushed Opiates" with two other very talented musicians. And this site was created to showcase our music. After a while I moved on to posting other music and the site took off.

As for Krushed Opiates, we put out one release (then 3 others many many years later of unpublished work). We never got a bad review, seriously not one. I'll attach some here so you can see what I mean. We were even in a few magazines in the day. Sideline comes to mind, they did an interview with us.

Why are we the unknown bastard child of the 90's Industrial/coldwave/electronic scene - very little promotion and support. At least that's what I tell myself :-)

This is the most I have talked about KO in a LONG time and will probably be the last time.

I attached linked 3 reviews to this update, it's a little bragging and a little to show that what I wrote above isn't BS.

If you want to hear KO, we are on Spotify, Apple Music, a playlist is also on my YouTube site plus we are on all the big streamers. Finding a physical disk might be hard as I personally only have 1 left. I think 1000 or less were pressed,

I started this channel to make myself a playlist that I could listen to anywhere. I didn't expect it to catch on. I'm at almost at 300 subscribers, that's a lot, to me, with zero promotion. I'm just giving some great songs, remixes and rare versions the exposure they deserve.

To all my subscribers, thanks for checking out my posts. I hope I've turned you on to some bands, songs and genre's you weren't aware of before.

I'll continue to post songs that move me and hope that they continue to move you :-)

Live and thrive!

If anyone is interested; any song I think has that "old" flat sound, those songs mixed with mid to late 80's equipment (used well into the 90'). I take each song, find the original I have, extract it to uncompressed wav and then "modernize it.

I've mastered/mixed tracks albums before so it's not a difficult task. The problem is I'm working with ONE flat mixed track not 36 individual tracks I could fix and then do a REAL remaster, so I call it modernizing. Usually volume adjustment, minor EQ IF need then audio compression. Finally, I encode to near lossless giving the best outcome.

Some come out great, some come out good, but they all come out better.

TL;DR - I try to make older tracks sound recent.
