This is part III in the three part series of videos to help you implement the most important systems in your dental practice.
From my own experience of running my own dental practice for the last 10+ years, these key systems have helped me create a lean and super profitable PPO General Dentistry Practice.
In part I and II, we started the discussion on implementing systems by following something I call the Patient Journey.
In this video, we're going to put everything together by using an example system, and deep dive into the different processes and discuss how you can turn a process into one or more standard operating procedure (SOP) documents.
We're going to cover the tools you can use to create and store these documents, so your team can easily access them.
If you're starting from scratch or buying an existing practice, this series of videos should help you start establishing systems for the most important components of your practice.

5 Things I Did In My Dental Practice When I Started, Which Went Against Experts' Advice
I want to share this with you because I run into this on a weekly basis through emails from our readers, few of you that watch my videos, as well as phone conversations with doctors who are either starting or are already established in their own practice.
Whenever I go on the dental Facebook groups, online dental forums, or read through the articles in dental business magazines - most discussions are about setting industry standards for how a dental practice should operate to be profitable or successful.
Whether it’s setting a floor or a ceiling for standard overhead percentages, or discussing how the doctor should only be focusing on this and not on THAT, and how you should never do X to increase your case acceptance with patients - it’s as if all offices must operate from this same angle - without any consideration for the location, patient demographics, the owner doctor's skill set and personality, etc.
I'll give you an example, for instance, they'll tell you the payroll should be x% of your collections, or your rent should be x% of your collections.
The Doctor should NEVER discuss finances in the operatory or be involved with how a patient's dental insurance works.
Everything that you don't know how to do should simply be outsourced and the doctors should just focus on clinical dentistry.
From my experience, again this is my opinion only -
If you always stick to these standards, I can guarantee you that you're not maximizing your potential, and most likely you’re leaving money on the table, or worst, losing money because you’re not even aware of the problem.
