• Now for the most recent death that has shocked the Wrestling World. It was announced today that Windham Lawrence Rotunda... better known as Bray Wyatt has passed away aged just 36. First I would like to report factually about his career and then write a few personal words about Bray. Bray comes from a wrestling dynasty. His Father is Wrestling Legend Mike Rotunda (better known as IRS). His Grandfather is Blackjack Mulligan. His uncles are Barry & Kendall Windham and his brother is Bo Dallas. Windham Rotunda was born on May 23, 1987. In 2008 he began his wrestling career with WWE Development League FCW alongside his brother "Bo Dallas" with whom he twice won the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship. In 2010-2011 he joined the WWE Main Roster as "Husky Harris". There he was part of the Stable "Nexus". Between 2011-2012 he returned to FCW.

In April 2012, Rotunda returned to the now renamed brand NXT after re-developing his gimmick. It was the debut of the stable "Wyatt Family". Bray was their leader. Other founding members were Erick Rowan & Luke Harper. The stable's gimmick was a sort of hillbilly sect. It was the true start of his career. Although there were of course numerous victories for the Wyatt Family and especially Bray in his NXT time, two defeats stand out. So was his first loss against his brother "Bo Dallas". And he also suffered a defeat against the legend Chris Jericho. The Stabel also won the NXT Tag Team Championship during this period. In 2013, the Wyatt Family moved to the WWE Main Roster. After many attacks from the Stable, Bray had his first major match at Summerslam 2013 in a Ring of Fire match against WWE Legend Kane. He was able to win this match with the help of his stable. At the end of 2013 they were able to add fan favorite Daniel Bryan to their sect. But his membership was short-lived. Daniel Bryan left the sect just a few weeks later. Another highlight came on February 23, 2014 when the Wyatt Family defeated the other major WWE Stable, The Shield. At Wrestlemania XXX, Wyatt suffered his first loss on the Main Roster to John Cena. In late 2014, Bray disbanded the Wyatt Family Stable. As a result, Bray Wyatt's singles career began, which certainly culminated in his Match against Undertaker at Wrestlemania 31. Unfortunately, he suffered a defeat here again. In mid-2015, the Wyatt Family returned - stronger than before, with a new member named Braun Strowman joining the stable. Despite Bray Wyatt's tremendous popularity, the wyatt family only had a brief segment against The Rock at Wrestlemania 32. Erick Rowan was defeated in 6 seconds here. In the course of the draft, the Wyatt Family was again dissolved. In October 2016, after a match series, Randy Orton joined the "new" Wyatt Family. On February 12, 2016, Wyatt won his first singles title. He won the WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber. However, he had to give up this title again a few weeks later at Wrestlemania 33 to Randy Orton. In 2017-2018, Wyatt formed the Deleters of Worlds Tag Team with Matt Hardy. In 2018, Bray Wyatt left WWE due to story disagreements. In 2019-2021 Bray finally returned with his new gimmick "The Fiend". For this he wore a horror mask that was created on Wyatt's suggestions. Unfortunately, I have to keep this time short for reasons of space. He won the Universal Championship twice. Highlights were the feud with Orton in which he was burned and came back with a different appearance. He also had a dark alliance with Alexa Bliss. At Wrestlemania 36 there was a cinematic Re-Match against John Cena which Bray got to win. Of course, the mention of the Firefly Funhouse must not be forgotten. All of these were ideas from Bray who was one of the most creative minds of our time. Wyatt was surprisingly released from WWE on July 21, 2021. Illnesses and psychological problems were repeatedly reported. Above all, the death of his friend Luke Harper (Brody Lee) made him very difficult. In 2022 Wyatt returned one last time. He had a feud with LA Knight here that ended at Royal Rumble 2023. A return to the ring was reportedly imminent....

I would now like to post a few personal words here. Anyone who asked me about my favorite wrestler here on YouTube actually always got 3. Mr. Perfect, The Undertaker... and in modern WWE, definitely Bray Wyatt. Honestly, this death is the hardest for me personally as a fan in recent years. Without Bray, my YouTube channels would literally not exist. My wrestling fan time ended in 1996/97. I became a fan again in 2012/13. If you look at when the Bray Wyatt gimmick was designed, you'll see that it was exactly when he debuted it. I was fascinated by the Wyatt Family from all these mystical stories. For me, wrestling is not just "matches" but "storylines". And there were no better storylines in modern times than Bray Wyatt's. He was the reason the wrestling fire rekindled in me. Without him, I probably wouldn't have become a fan again and would never have found my way here on YouTube. Bray developed almost all of the stories himself and was one of the most creative people in the wrestling business. Privately he may not have been infallible.. but he was likeable, close to the people... all around a good person. If I had to draw a conclusion about his career, it would still be an unfinished one. The storylines were unique and brilliant. But in the end he usually had to accept defeat in the crucial case. Whether against Cena, Orton and whatever they are called. It was like watching an exciting film and the last 5 minutes are just disappointing. Unfortunately, that's how I've often felt in Bray's career. It wasn't his fault, it was WWE's fault for often denying him that last step despite his popularity. IT COULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH MORE...
With him, goes one of my all-time favorites. I was shocked by this News and I still am..... 😞

Bray died of a heart attack. He had been suffering from heart problems for some time, which were exacerbated by a recent corona disease. Windham is survived by his wife Jojo and 4 children. I wish his family, his friends and everyone close to him a lot of strength during this difficult time. It was an honor for me to observe you, your creativity and your humanity. Thank you for all the entertainment you have given us. REST IN PEACE BRAY!
