Can’t we all just get along? While Djing w/ Slaugerhouse for the R.N.S Tour which happened to be their last official tour together as a group, was also around the same time I shot “Rex Ryan” for @whoisconway on his critically acclaimed “Reject 2” project. Huge credit to Joell Ortiz who vouched for me to DJ for the super group and had recently released “HUMAN” a project entirely produced by @illmindproducer where I was an A&R for his “Roseville Music Group” collective. It was a short run but nonetheless and epic experience. While on road I was the aux holder so of course the playlist was hitting. I used to play WestSideGunn all the time in the BlueTec sprinter and remember vividly Royce Da 5 9 hearing the sound and saying “ Hmmm so they’re rapping to sample loops again huh?” My response was, “I don’t know what They’re doing, but these guys are ill.” This is early 2015. It’s amazing to see the end result of what time and consistency can bring. If I learned anything though this experience it’s that if you have something to say, say it. If you have something to show, show it. Nothing is a coincidence. Don’t let anyone shun your light due to levels of accolades. We deserve everything that comes to us & need to learn to accept the blessings Jah provides us. You’ll play a part if your play your part. Focussing on the art of Djing has opened so many other avenues of revenue & relationships that money could never purchase.
