Recently, some nurses residing in Canada 🇨🇦 reached out to me regarding how finding a job has been so hard.

The truth is that getting a job is a bit hard, especially in some provinces for nurses in recent times. I personally experienced this while searching for a job, and in fact, I had 301 applications before I eventually got the offer. The essence of the story is NEVER to give up.

Here are a few suggestions to navigate through the process of finding a job either as a nurse or other discipline.

● Make sure your resume has the keywords mentioned in the job posting. Remember that it's an application called ATS that scans your resume and cover letter before the hiring manager sees it. Once your resume lacks the keywords, then your resume gets filtered away.

● Also, you can do hand delivery of your resume to the hiring unit. Although some managers don't like this but others might pleasantly accept it.

● Try not to limit yourself to part-time or full-time positions only. Try a casual position, too. With casual, you get your foot in the door.

● Try applying to rural first. Once you're in, you can then apply as internal applicants to other facilities in the city.

● Lastly, apply to private nursing homes, supportive living, and long-term care. Don't just focus on a government job. Start from somewhere and gather your experience.
I hope this helps.
Happy New Month ✨️

✍️ Let's talk briefly about studying in Canada.

PROCEDURE FOR STUDYING IN CANADA

● Choose a school, college, or university.

● Contact the school to learn how to apply and the list of required documents such as the cost to apply, tuition fees, health insurance, rent, language test, etc.

● Fill out the application forms for the school or schools of your choice.
If the school admits you as a student, they will send you a letter of acceptance that is needed to apply for a study permit.

TO APPLY FOR A STUDY PERMIT.
Below are the documents needed to apply for a study permit.

■ Proof of acceptance
■ Provincial or territorial attestation letter
■ Proof of identity
■ Proof of Financial Support
■ Letter of explanation
■ Medical Examination
■ Other documents

🛑 To apply for a study permit, you need an acceptance letter from a designated learning institution (DLI). A DLI is a school approved by a provincial or territorial government to host international students.

WARNING ⚠️
👉 DO NOT FALL VICTIM OF A FAKE ACCEPTANCE LETTER FROM ' AGENTS'' OR FAKE IMMIGRATION CONSULTANTS

CAREGIVER PILOT PROGRAM, PATHWAY TO PERMANENT RESIDENCE IN CANADA 🇨🇦 UPON ARRIVAL.

This program is set to launch in 2024, following the closure of the existing Home Child Care Provider and the Home Support Worker Pilot programs on June 17th, 2024.

Through these new pilot programs, candidates interested in working in Canada’s home care sector will be eligible to apply if they are able to attain a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level of 4.

The new pilots will also require that candidates hold the equivalent of a Canadian high school diploma. This will require credential evaluation with the educational credential assessment board (ECA).

Finally, applicants will require “recent and relevant work experience” as a caregiver and job offer for a full-time home care job.

More details are expected to be released by IRCC closer to the full launch of the new pilot programs.

See what you need to prepare for in the comment section.
