Update: We only have 7 volunteers, thatโs right only 7 to thus point and I know a hell of alot more boat owners in Eastern NC that I have invited. Plus we need other volunteers as well to help launch and recover boats, cook and prepare food for the cookout and fillet fish!!!
Please step up to the plate and volunteer and give back to your country!!!!
Ok fellow boat owners and fisherman in Eastern, North Carolina. We will be hosting our 7th annual spring, The Fallen Outdoors, Memorial Day Fishing and Eco-Tour event on Memorial Day๐บ๐ธ, May 27th(back up dates May 25 or 26)
We are looking for boat owners that would like to volunteer their boat for the day by either taking out Veterans for a full day of fishing or a full day of eco-touring(sand bar hopping, dolphin watching, shelling, sightseeing and boat cruising).
You don't have to be an expert at either, just willing to pay it forward and thank our veterans for what they do by providing them a day on the water.
Last spring we had 12 boats, 25 veterans and countless TFO staffers participate. Our goal is to double that number
Disclaimer this is not a sign up for the event to be a participant, that will be handled by TFO on a later date.

What is your level of rod building experience?

How do you build fishing rods? Join me on my path to answer that question. I'll share my triumphs and tragedies. This hobby has taught me some lessons on what to do, and what not to do. Learning from the failures is key to improving the craft.
Building fishing rods can be quite addicting! You start off with the components to build rod and end up with whatever you can think up. The possibilities are endless! Completing a rod and it coming out the way you wanted is awesome. To then catch a fish on that rod you built with your own hands is a rewarding experience!!
