The journey of Baazgasht started in 2008 with an Audio-Visual project in association with University of Tuebingen, Germany. Initially, it was supposed to be an audio-visual quarterly magazine, but due to some operational and ideological differences, Raghib Akhtar parted his way and started Baazgasht as an audio-visual platform on YouTube. The purpose of this platform is to provide content with near-perfect pronunciation with minimum errors.
Motive
In a very short span of time our society has lost native Urdu-speakers in a large number which has impacted Urdu language and literature badly. Unlike other Indian languages, vowel signs are not used in Urdu script traditionally and sometime it’s very difficult to pronounce a word without knowing the etymology. Baazgasht, as a platform to propagate Urdu language provides all kinds of prose and poetry to fulfil the gap of Urdu speaking community in the society.
