Since 1962, the Center for East Asian Studies (CEAS) has been putting the Wisconsin Idea in action by connecting East Asia to UW–Madison and to the broader Wisconsin community. With more than sixty years of research and teaching on China, Japan, and Korea, the center has grown from a few faculty members teaching thirty graduate-level courses to more than seventy teaching nearly three hundred courses at the undergraduate - and graduate - level.
CEAS offers funding opportunities for faculty and students, degree options for undergraduates and graduates, and outreach programming for students, teachers, and communities. CEAS is a federally-funded National Resource Center for the study of East Asia. Please visit eastasia.wisc.edu for more information.
