Hello, hello! It has been a while since our last post. We have just finished moving to a new place and a lot is happening in work/life right now (all that adulting), so we’re taking a step back on posting right now. We appreciate all the support for our channel, and hope everyone is finding some time to slow down and enjoy things a bit more. 🙏 ⛰️ 🌵 🌊✌️

p.s. Here's a few recent pics taken on a hike in the area. We're loving the CA high desert, especially now that warmer weather is upon us. ☀️ 😎

Had a few questions popping up in the comments for our Wheeler Peak hiking video, so figured we’d provide some additional insights if you’re thinking about tackling this trail.

As always, please do your own research via the USFS website and other resources on how to prepare to ensure you have the safest, most enjoyable experience.

Highlights:

* Wheeler Peak via the Williams Lake Trailhead (starting from access near the Bavarian in Taos Ski Valley)
* 8.5 mile out-and-back hike with ~2,961 foot elevation gain
* Elevation of the peak is 13,161 feet.
* The first third is well shaded; after that, you’ll exit the tree line and be more exposed; the final third to top is completely exposed with a whole lot of scree and rock and switchbacks to deal with.
* Start early and check the weather report so you can avoid potentially dangerous weather conditions, but also leave time at the top to rest, refuel, and enjoy the view at the top.
* On the trek down, please be mindful of all the gravel and loose rocks that can make for a slipper descent in spots (hiking poles may be a really good idea, but regardless, go slow).
* Acclimate before the hike (follow any guidance that the USFS provides on this).
* Trail etiquette: be mindful of others, hikers coming uphill have the right of way, make yourself known if coming up behind someone.

A few helpful links to start your research.

If you’re looking a moderate hike in Joshua Tree National Park with incredible views of the surrounding landscape, the North View Trail is a gem (and one of our current faves).

A few tips before you hike:

- Combine North View with the Maze Loop Trail for a really nice ~6 mile hike.
- Parking is limited, so get to the trailhead early
- Bring a map and extra water/hiking snacks, as it’s easy to get turned around on (we use AllTrails Pro to download offline maps that still work via GPS, highly recommend).
- Like many trails in JTNP, dogs are unfortunately not allowed on this trail.
- Trail details and directions here 👉 www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/north-view-a…

Check out our latest YouTube video for a front-seat view of hiking the North View Trail 👇

A few images Brett recently shot of a sunrise over Joshua Tree. Very grateful to have views like this in general, but especially on hectic mornings where it’s easy to go about the day in autopilot and miss a chance to slow down and take in the moment. Hoping each of you finds little pauses in your day to appreciate the present in whatever way you can. 🙏

Posted last Friday about our experiences on California's Central Coast. Here's the link in case you missed and want to read:
youtube.com/post/UgkxfC8I8aSaANI0t8W_VpnN-16aTBB2Y…

We filmed a sunset over Moonstone Beach while taking some time to pause and rest on our travels. We uploaded two versions of the 4K nature video: one w/ calming music, and one with just ocean ambience brought to you by the mighty Pacific ocean.

Hope that this brings a little peace and mindfulness into your day. 🙏 🌊 🌅

We’ve been a little surprised by how much we’ve enjoyed our time driving and exploring California’s Central Coast. Of all the places we’ve been over the last two years, Cambria and Morro Bay have been two “under the radar” highlights of our slow travels.

We camped at San Simeon State Park the first time we visited Cambria, CA in 2021. We were a few months or so into the journey and feeling quite a bit of anxiety from all of the change coming at us, the uncertainty, and the Spring winds that had followed us at every stop so far.

Cambria wasn’t initially on our list as a stopping point. We knew that we wanted a change of environment, and the ocean was speaking to us (loudly), but we had no previous experience with or knowledge of the Central Coast.

So, we decided to take a chance and explore this unfamiliar place, which ended up being a very good decision. Our time in Cambria allowed us to gain a newfound appreciation for the Central Coast and a needed change of pace early in our journey.

Last year, we made a deliberate return trip in Cambria to take a few days off the road, shut down our laptops, and soak in the whole experience a bit more.

Suffice to say, we’re fans. The energy and vibe around Moonstone Beach definitely fits our criteria for slowing down and appreciating things as they come. Highly recommend making some time to explore the Central Coast if you’re in the area or planning a PCH trip in the near future.

While in Cambria, we filmed a sunset from Moonstone Beach that we hope captures the beauty and magic of the place the way we remember it.

Hope you enjoy! And as always, thank you for supporting our channel and our journey. 🙏 🌊 🌅

Posting a little throwback homage to one of our favorite small towns in America: Marfa, Texas (there's a video from our last trip there on our channel).

It’s really hard to find the right words to accurately capture the Marfa experience. Probably because these words only seem to pick at the surface of what is a truly special place.

A place of unforgettable horizons. A place of people that look out for one another and care deeply about their town and its natural spaces. A place of delicious food + libations, poignant art in unsuspecting places, and so much more.

Most importantly for us, a place in no rush or hurry to impress itself upon you. It's one of a very small list of places we've travelled to that just moves at a different pace than the places outside its borders.

In other words, it's a place to slow down and go with the flow a bit more.

Just please remember that it’s a small, isolated community, so being mindful of how you experience it will go a long way in it being a positive experience for you and everyone else around you.

Hope this finds you grounded and well 🙏

In case you missed it, we just posted a new 4K nature experience video of our Pacific Coast Highway drive in October (see below).

This is easily one of our favorite scenic drives in the U.S., and we've been very fortunate to have done it twice in the last few years.

This time, we started in Sonoma, CA and made our way south with stops at San Francisco's Baker Beach and a few viewpoints in Big Sur country. Our final destination landed us in Cambria, California and Moonstone Beach, which is an absolute gem on California's central coast.

As always, thanks for watching and for supporting our channel 🙏 🌊 😎

TB images (and a link to our Lunar Eclipse video) from our last trip to White Sands National Park in early June 2022.

We hit up the park closer to sunset, which made the views, reduced crowds, and managing the heat (bring extra extra water and sun protection) a little 3x win.

This is a place that rewards a slower pace, so keep that in mind when timing a trip.

If you do go in any part of the hotter months, the park is open a little later (9pm) from April 9 - September 9, and close to sundown is a magical time in the park. Just be sure to give yourself time to exit before the park closes, and as always, be prepared for the conditions by planning ahead.

Hello, hello! Been a minute, as we've been slowing down a bit on traveling as 2022 comes to a close. We're working on a coastal PCH drive video and will be posting that in December (see images below for a few shots from that drive).

Starting in 2023, we'll be aiming for one video/month to allow ourselves more time to explore, shoot, and edit.

It's not about massive or rapid growth for us. We're trying to keep this channel as mindful, aligned and authentic with the way we like to live and travel as possible, so the content and frequency will reflect that.

Thanks for watching and for the support. Here's to an awesome and grounded end of the year, and an even more awesome and grounded 2023. 🙏😎🌵🏕
