One of the most frustrating cosmetics I use is artificial lash glue! In hot climates all of the glues felt gummy and ran. It is an ongoing project of mine to find a formula and improve it for hot and cold climates alike.

I just submitted my most difficult assessment yet. After almost 9 months of hard work my surfactants unit is complete. Now I know more about soap, lotions, shampoo, conditioners, creams, serums, hairsprays, gels, antiperspirants, butters, mousse, sunscreens, lip balm, overnight masks, anti aging actives etc., than ever before. Stay tuned for Mexico and my Dios de los Muertos adventures! I am working on a whole line of fun masks just for Mexico WHEN I am there in 10 days!

I am preparing to return to Morocco in September. Yellowstone National Park and the Snake Canyon were amazing this past month! I highly recommend the venue. We saw so many fun sights. The Mammoth Ice Caves and Craters of the Moon were also a fun hike. My mother loved spelunking in the caves in Idaho and now I understand some of the excitement. I will be sharing my adventures here with you so stay tuned! Inspiration comes from every day life as well as fun experiences.

The Jen Spice channel is all about beauty crafting around the world. I share in my culinary kitchen when I find something that may increase inner health and beauty. I also regularly take you into my cosmetic lab to create soap and other lovely outer beauty enhancing products. I love to teach and travel so I will be taking my students abroad with me to find treasures around the world for cosmetics (May 2024- Southern Morocco).
My name is Jen and I have been making soap and beauty products for over 30 years. I have an ASc in technical biology and a BSc from the University of Victoria. I have finished at the Ghana Soap School and am currently formulating my own NA black soap. I am also a Formula Botanica Graduate and am active in The Lab which keeps my natural beauty formulating current. I have finished the Practical Cosmetic Formulation course taught by Perry Romanovsky.
I am currently enrolled in the cosmetic chemist degree program at The Institute of Personal Care Science.
