Cuff got her artificial grass today in her new home and even though she lost her companion she seems to be doing well …. She is very brave and inquisitive and I had to put her into the water three times while installing the grass. Great to see her back to her mischievous self again

Animals are an amazing thing to have around you but it’s so hard when you lose them … had two yellow belly slider turtles and built them a forever home after I built my forever home only to find the stress of the move was too much for one of them 🥲 the second turtle called cuff is doing really well and seems to like her new home …. Link was a shy little turtle and will be missed

My plan to continue to be able to fish every week has had to change this year. I see ticket prices continuing to rise at every small Stillwater in the country and I can’t really justify spending £300+ a month on the hobby.
I have joined a little fly fishing syndicate 20 mins from my home. I will still support my regular day ticket waters but it will be a couple of times a month rather than every week. It’s a great little syndicate with just one er 40 members.
I will also be fly fishing for carp on the fly and bass on the fly during the summer
I won’t be able to record footage at the syndicate venue but will still make videos when I do got to the day ticket waters
I love the sport and fishing regularly is very important to me so with things moving the direction they have been moving I have had to change things up to continue to fish as much as I want to.
All the best and tight lines all

I’m a bit worried about the state of the small Stillwater scene here in the uk - the wheels seem to have fallen off somewhat …. Everybody has less money as uk and many other countries are in a complete financial mess and fisheries are having to either increase prices or in many cases close their doors?
I’m not sure what the future holds I want to support all my local venues but my finances are not limitless
One thing is for sure ….
I think something has to give somewhere …..

I really cannot understand why people visit the uploads of our happy little group just to moan about us fishing for farmed trout? Why do they bother to click on the video if they do not like the small Stillwater scene? Pet trout …. Pellet pigs …. Disgusting trout …. Too easy… no challenge ….blah blah blah … I fish for wild 1lb brownies in streams … ok cool … good for you that’s genuinely really nice and sounds awesome but why visit every farmed fishery video giving it the old oh I’m getter than you as I fish this way or fish for this ….. how about you take your joyless selves somewhere else and stop commenting on videos trying to impress people …. How about that?.
