Hey everyone! Of course, as you know, April 9th is "Be Kind to Babloo Day"! I had really hoped to have the 7414 Elephant Caravan video done in time for the occasion, but I fell sick for the past 2 weeks and have been too busy working on other music projects to finish it in time. Oh well, that shouldn't stop us from celebrating in the traditional way..! (whatever that might be..)
Once my voice returns, I will be hard at work recording new scripts and editing new videos. I've also had some exciting new sets show up at my door recently, so I'm looking forward to share them eventually. Thanks for sticking around folks!

Welcome to anyone new here who is joining the channel for the first time! I do plan on doing *something* to recognize the channel's growth and reflect upon previous videos, but it does have to be placed fairly far into the future as there are several videos already coming down the pipes. Maybe I'll save this idea for a "Slugger Update 4" video or the 2nd Birthday Special in May?
Regardless, there are two older videos that I recommend to anyone coming to the channel for the first time. The first one would be the 1st Birthday Special video I did last May; in this one, I go through the channel's origin and video making process. The second video I'd recommend would be the 1,012 Subscriber Special; I think it's just all around a great video! Both can be found back to back on my channel.
In terms of *new* videos, I tried to have the final Time Cruisers episode ready by today, but I fell sick this week and was unable to make as much progress on it than I wanted. I feel like it only needs one or two more days of work and I have a free weekend, so there's a good chance I could have it out by Sunday. If it gets to a point where it isn't looking like it's going to be ready, I may need to jump ship and just start working on the next video as it has a pretty hard deadline. Regardless, this slug will be plenty busy this weekend!

Hey folks! Everyday, that subscriber count climbs closer and closer to 10k - I estimate that we will hit that threshold by the weekend! 😅
I am sincerely humbled by so many people enjoying what we do here on this channel. You all make it worthwhile!
I never had plans to make a "10,000 Subscriber Special" like I did with the "1,012 Subscriber Special", but it feels appropriate to do *something* in that vein. For a while, I have wanted to go back through my videos and talk about each one - sort of a "director's commentary", if you will. Since there are so many new faces joining the channel, this feels like the perfect opportunity to do so!
Because I have so many video plans on the go right now (some with pretty hard deadlines), I don't have the capacity to write a full script for a project like this; instead, I see two options:
1. I could go through and make a non-scripted pre-recorded video where I look at the channels history and give insight on each video. The advantage of doing it this way is that the editing would be tighter and I may be able to insert additional popup images and such should they be needed.
2. Alternatively, we could turn the event into a livestream where I screen share my desktop as I go through and comment on the channel's history video by video; same idea as the previous option, though this idea would trade brevity for fan involvement, where I could answer questions from the chat about the videos as we go.
I don't think I have any strong leanings either way - both options pose a few technical challenges for me, but I think I could make them work. I'll let you folks decide!

Hey everyone - despite my best efforts, no video this weekend.
It's been over one week without an internet connection at the Slugger Residence... I was fortunate to have last week's video ready to go ahead of time - this time, not so much. There have been a whole lot of tech support calls and an even greater amount of days spent waiting for some sort of resolution to this whole thing.
I definitely took for granted how critical the internet was in making these videos; not only the uploading/YouTube side of things, but even little things like looking up a specific part's history on Bricklink or grabbing a screenshot of a set from the web. To say this outage has effected production would be an understatement.
I know some folks out there will want to know more details or want to help in some way; while I sincerely appreciate this, I trust the people already looking into the problem. I wish the fix would come sooner rather than later, but I'm on tour this weekend anyways so I won't be around the house regardless. 😅
Just... please hold your modems a little closer to your heart for me today. They are precious things! ❤️️
