Horseracing Wrongs is an animal rights organization committed to exposing and ending the cruel and deadly horseracing industry in the United States. Through our seminal FOIA reporting, HW has documented nearly 10,000 confirmed kills at U.S. tracks since 2014; our research shows that well over 2,000 racehorses are killed across America every year. Over 2,000 - that's about six every single day.
Horseracing Wrongs is, primarily, a grassroots organization. Effective activism starts in the streets, educating the public, exposing the exploiters. Through protests, outreach events and uses billboard marketing we educate the public.
Horseracing Wrongs works with the media - HBO, CNN, ESPN, MSNBC, The Washington Post, among many others. We engage legislators, advocating for changes to a financial system that sees hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars going to prop up horseracing each year. It is the organization’s simple, uncompromising goal to shut down the U.S. horseracing industry.
