So basically, this is my story! I got married near the end of 2011. A year later, my wife, my wife was pregnant with our son and we made the major decision to move to South Korea to be closer to her family. π
With not a whole lot to do at first, I would set out and explore Seoul and surrounding areas when duty didn't call. I enjoyed exploring and learning all about Korean culture, history, and traditions. I'd visit galleries, palaces, museums, etc., It wasn't before long that I was snapping pics of all the interesting stuff that I found along the way with my phone...
That went on for a little over a year and a half before I was able to purchase my first DSLR camera, Canon 600D, otherwise known as Rebel t3i, an amateur, starter DSLR kit.
This kickstarted my journey into photography!
8 and a half years I have lots of experiences and stories to share from over 100,000 photographs throughout Seoul, and the rest of the Korean Peninsula!
I'm happy to start sharing my complete journey! π

We just got back from a little trip to the Southeast of the peninsula to a town called Jinhae! Jinhae is famous for its πΈπΈπΈπΈπΈ Cherry Blossoms! #sakura They have a huge cherry blossom festival going on right now.
We also drove up a bit on the east sea to Pohang, where I explored a little bit of a massive fish market!
I got some very cool photographs and videos coming for you!

While exploring, I document the beauty of people, life, and places with my camera.
I'm Don, a documentary-style photographer. I started photography while living abroad in South Korea in 2014. While living there until May 2023 I captured over 100,000 images throughout Seoul and other parts of the country. After returning to Central Ontario, Canada, I continue to explore and document the world around me.
Much of my work is a high-contrast, black-and-white, taken while exploring the city with my full-frame Canon camera and a 35mm lens.
