I've gotten quite a few comments on my new video, so I think I need to make an official statement here.
I am no longer making videos about Tally Hall.
For the longest time, my real passion has been film analysis. My first two years on with this channel were entirely about film. But I was obsessed with Tally Hall two years ago and made a few videos. But the band have been broken up for over 10 years at this point and not a lot new is happening. It's hard to make content about a band that isn't together anymore, and its even harder when my passion isn't even music related at all.
I still love the band, that's never going to change. But I have been working really hard to pump out quality content about film because that's what I truly care about more than anything else.
At the end of the day, Tally Hall is a former band that released 2 albums and a tv show. I don't want to repeat what others with more passion about the band than me are already saying. Tally Hall isn't a genre and I wish to make videos as long as I can, so I need to switch to a topic that I'm not only more passionate about, but has endless possibilities for topics to cover.

I just realized I never made a community post, but I started a new series! It's called the director binge. I go over a director's entire filmography, their ups and downs, and my general thoughts on each movie. You should check it out! I'm gonna try to make a new one each month!
Be so fr rn, if I made a video about the career of acclaimed director Darren Aronofsky, would you watch it? I'm super into film and film analysis, but I'm kinda worried that this is just becoming a Tally Hall fan account.
I'm not going to make a response video to the second Joe Hawley doc, because that feels exploitative and this is NOT a drama channel, but I felt a community post would be appropriate.
We've known since Matthew Altruda's Twitter response in 2020 that Joe Hawley is suffering. While the specific diagnosis is still unknown to the public and Joe himself, Matthew says that he sees signs of schizophrenia and paranoia. Matthew knows Joe more than any of us ever will, so I believe him.
That being said, this is not an excuse for what Joe did. Even if he did not know it, he was hurting people and communities. His state of mental being may be the reason he said and did all those things he did, but that does not mean he shouldn't take accountability and attempt to make it right.
If anything, I hope this sparks something in Joe Hawley that causes him to seek professional help. Andrew Horowitz and Matthew have both said that his symptoms and delusions have only gotten worse. He's been delusional for a while and genuinely believes that a lot of people are out to get him.
You can still like Tally Hall and Joe Hawley's solo projects. You can still support him and hope that he grows as a person. Sure, there's nothing to undo what he did, but we should always hope for the best for people, especially when they are suffering from a debilitating mental disorder.
If there's one big takeaway from this, it is as follows: STOP INTERACTING WITH JOE HAWLEY! Matthew said that Joe cannot differ between fantasy and reality. Constantly, fans will interact with him when he is clearly not well. Please stop reaching out to him in DMs or trying to get anything more than a simple thumbs up or "congrats" from him on Twitter. He is at a concerning low point and we should give him time and space to heal. I am in no way victim blaming, as those two were still children and blinded by hyper fixation, I certainly know what that's like. And of course, Joe did horrible things to them that are completely inexcusable, even if he was delusional.
Joe Hawley is not your friend. He is never going to be your friend. Leave him alone and let's just hope that the real loved ones in his life can convince him to go to therapy and seek treatment.
Also stop asking the other band members about what this means for a tour or a third album. That's very insensitive to the situation and wildly reductive.
And please stop making light of his mental illness. I did this in the past, specifically the Tally Hall ranking video, and I am incredibly sorry. I was 16 at the time of making that video and didn't understand how much people suffered from things like this. I was ignorant. I will also make a pinned comment on that video with resources to educate about schizophrenia and charities to help further research of it.
Wishing the best recovery for Joe Hawley and wishing that the two teens who were harassed are able to live long, happy lives and mentally recover from this as well. Please don't dox or harass them, they didn't do anything wrong in this situation, they are the victims.
Of course, I am not a psychologist. I'm a college kid and that gives me 0 authority to diagnose or excuse his actions. I'm just a YouTuber and Tally Hall fan that is concerned for the safety of not only Joe, but also my fellow Tally Hall fans.
