The sooner you start taking better care of your skin, the sooner you’ll see results.

But progress does take time. Usually 2-3 months to start seeing an improvement.

For some people sooner, for some people longer depending on:

❇️severity
❇️consistency
❇️mindset (some people sabotage themselves by leaning over the sink, obsessing, picking, overtreating, overthinking, etc.)

The longer you blame your hormones or diet, the longer you ignore your skin’s needs, the longer you face your current problem.😚

Here are some recent client results to inspire you (she’s had clear skin for THREE YEARS now!). 🫶

Love,
O

I'm seeing some dermatologists catch on that the "studies" showing correlations between diet and acne never proved cause, and that they were observational and deeply biased.
Slow clap.

Another one 🥳🥳🥳

It’s easy to miss what your skin is trying to tell you…

Especially if you believe myths like:
❌food causes acne
❌it’s hormonal
❌a pimple forms overnight
❌acne is a reflection of your internal health

But what a lot of us miss is:
✔️our skin faces the world AND our skincare choices
✔️which may or may not create imbalances on the surface
✔️that may lead to various unpleasant symptoms

Like:
🔘tightness
🔘flakiness
🔘constant discomfort
🔘various lesions
🔘redness
etc.

Instead of always looking for something to blame 👻, it would be helpful to try to understand what the skin needs from you.

Often times it needs one or more of the following:
✅know-how (user error is too common!)
✅well-formulated products (the formula may not be suitable for human skin)
✅consistency (you don’t get results by doing something one time!)
✅patience (you don’t get results overnight!)
✅sink’s distance (leaning over the sink leads to all kinds of unnecessary aggression that the skin didn’t ask for!)

Instead of calling your skin “acne-prone”, consider if your skincare habits might be “acne-prone”…🤔

Instead of asking “How do i get rid of acne?” try asking “How can I better support and protect my skin?”

Follow @olenabeley and become another skincare success story!

Nothing makes me madder than when I hear "acne is normal" or "clear skin is impossible".

Especially as someone who's had acne and has spent over a decade invested in understanding this topic!

Just say you don't understand skin, skin health, or skincare to make things clearer for your listener.

I saw an insane vid on YT shorts yesterday where a guy was praising a girl doing her makeup on super inflamed skin.

"Acne is normal! Her skin is so healthy!"

He was gaslighting an audience of thousands of people, most of whom I assume are teenagers.

The kicker: IT WASN'T ACNE.

So again, for those in the back:

By acne, does one mean…

➡️The full-blown skin condition?
➡️The bacteria?
➡️One pimple?
➡️OR AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT SKIN CONDITION?

☑️The full-blown skin condition is normal when there’s an imbalance of acne bacteria on the skin.
🔘When there is no imbalance of acne bacteria, clear skin is normal.
☑️Acne bacteria is found on normal, healthy skin and is not an issue on it own.
☑️An occasional pimple is normal in healthy skin and doesn’t require the presence of acne bacteria.

Yes, sometimes the thing that looks like a pimple isn’t acne at all.

⚠️While other times, what *looks* like acne, the full-blown skin condition can be a number of other skin problems in need of treatment.

(Some of which are incredibly serious and can have dire consequences on the person's health!!)

See, that’s using words correctly without gaslighting people.
What I mean when I use the word acne is:

The *full-blown* skin condition that you want to get rid of, when your skin is super inflamed and in pain.

‼️I’m not referring to a singular pimple because, again, that’s normal and is not a sign of anything wrong with your skin.

Stating that acne is normal only:

🤬creates confusion
🤬wherein everyone calls everything acne
🤬which prolongs treatment
🤬which can lead to practically irreversible scarring
🤬or infections
🤬while the person gaslights themselves into thinking they're stuck with it forever
🤬and then they start gaslighting everybody else into thinking that a solution doesn't exist

WHAT MADNESS IS THIS?!

PS. The first photo is just acne, the second is other skin conditions excluding acne, and the third photo is other skin conditions including acne. People are notoriously bad at describing their own skin accurately, let alone diagnosing skin conditions.

The rollercoaster of destroying and then healing your barrier can be avoided by sticking to what works and just doing that every day.

It might sound boring, but the shiny new objects may simply be distracting you from consistent and predictable results...
