Honored to be nominated for the East Africa Woman Of Excellence Awards by @e.awomenofexcellenceawards, under the Global Partner for Education category.

These last few years through @inuadada, weā€™ve pushed for education by ensuring school girls have access to basic needs such as Menstrual products.

Iā€™ve extended the same recently through the work I do with @gpforeducation as a champion for their program.

Access to education is a much needed conversation.

Please spare a moment to vote for me at the link in my bio.

Once you log on to womenofexcellenceawards.co/vote, head over to the category titled Global Partner for Eduction and youā€™ll find my name (listed among other great nominees!).

And then next, spare some time to read the latest report by @gpforeducation and a call to action for all of us, to show up for our children.

This shoot had me feeling the most liberated and in my skin than I ever have.

For this look (we shot three looks in total), @brianbabu snatched my wig off (literally) and made me stand tall in a look Iā€™ve never photographed in, while @holyziner guided me and I ended up feeling regal and vulnerable at the same time.

And it felt SO good.

It might seem trivial to talk about how much this freed me, but thatā€™s part of a story that only I know about. Itā€™s a personal milestone. And itā€™s taken grit, God and grace to get here.

ā€œWherever you go, there you areā€

This quote often means one of two things:

1. You cannot run from oneā€™s problems indefinitely and

2. Be present, be still.

Iā€™m combining both meanings and saying to myself, ā€œI canā€™t run away from my problems, but I can be still and figure out how to navigate my next stepsā€.

Better yet, on a rainbow-painted road with the Blue Church serving as a backdrop.

One of my fave moments from my recent travels to Iceland. Video out soon āœØ

Enjoy your #saturday

What an honor to attend and moderate a session at the Reykjavik Global Forum for Women Leaders in Reykjavik, Iceland.

I moderated a session titled Why Economic Power is a vital sign for Womenā€™s Health, joined by amazing women in the space both on and off stage, including the First Lady of Iceland.

The conversations have been full of heart, as hard issues are unpacked. In many ways, I believe thatā€™s what good leadership entails; getting back to the heart of the issues that most affect various populations around the world.

More soon where Iā€™ll share my takeouts.

Thank you to Judy Gitau for capturing some of these moments! Second pic by MarĆa Kjartans

And yes, weā€™re ok so far. Volcanic eruption warnings and all. Praying that the towns affected recover soon šŸ™šŸ¾

As I write this, I now understand more than ever, the importance of being in tune with your body, something I was doing previously and then I let it slip.

2020 has been a super stressful time for most, so even the tiniest triggers should not be ignored.

Life happens to the best of us. The lesson though is to lean in to our bodies and be at our best health always.

Thereā€™s only one you; look after that person.

Unfortunately I wonā€™t continue with Vlogtober and Iā€™ll be back here at whatever point feels best for me. I was soooo enjoying myself but life had other plans! Iā€™ll put the videos on private mode for now so that the sequence isnā€™t left hanging and so that when I have the strength, I post a complete set of videos. Iā€™m OCD like that šŸ˜Š

Take care, my lovely community. Thrive, always. ā¤ļø

ā€œOut of suffering have emerged the strongest souls, the most massive characters are seared with scars. So as you adapt to the new normal, with the complexity it brings for most of us in our business, lives and with our children, remember you are not alone.ā€

Constantly evolving. Anyone else? Sometimes it can be a solitary journey because no one quite gets the shift youā€™re in, but OWN IT! A shift is always necessary āœØ I thought someone needed to hear that, itā€™s been on my mind all week!
