I have a love/hate relationship with my voice. My expression. My value. The lies that coarse through the ether of my mind whisper to me bitter nothings that eventually wear me down to believe that they are true.

These lies sprouted their roots through the wounds of growing up in this broken reality: Sam, you are stupid. You don’t know anything. You are only worth acknowledging if you have failed. You will never be good enough. You are not worth anything unless you’re the best. Your childish existence and love is worthless.
.
This song is the fruit of finding healing for these wounds. These are words that I needed to sink deeply into my soul. Through time, deep reflection, many painful conversations, tear-filled weeping, and the great mercy of God in Jesus Christ and the truth of his Word, I have been able to receive some healing balm for my soul.

I hope this song can be a seed of healing for you. A step forward for you. A moment of clarity for you. A piece of idyllic pasture in this chaotic canvas of life.
