How many of you have started to notice HDR (high dynamic range) photos on Instagram?

If you arenā€™t sure what that means
, see the most recent posts on my account for comparison images / tests. This is not at all the HDR most people think of, itā€™s something completely different (but confusingly the same name).

Photos captured with your native iOS / Android camera and uploaded to IG from the phone will typically use HDR now.

Have you tried Lightroom's new HDR support on a mobile device?

If you aren't aware, most smart phones support HDR. Lightroom now supports HDR with iPhone, iPad, and Android 14 (Pixel 7 & 8). gregbenzphotography.com/hdr-images/lightroom-adds-ā€¦

Have you seen an HDR image on a 1000+ nits display (such as the M1 or M2 MacBook Pro or Pixel 7 Pro with Android 14)? If so, please let me know your thoughts in the comment below!

If you haven't or are unsure, here are some example HDR images: gregbenzphotography.com/hdr-gain-map-gallery/
And test #1 on the following page would show 2-4 stops of headroom if you have such a capable HDR display: gregbenzphotography.com/hdr/#tests

Have you tried creating HDR images yet with Adobe Camera RAW? (referring to the new tech preview of the past year that requires a much brighter screen, not the old merge to HDR feature). Please comment below, is this a topic that interests you? If so, what would you like to learn about it?

Photoshop v25.0 just started rolling out, so you no longer need a beta version of Photoshop to use this feature.
