Hello everyone,
I wanted to write a quick note to let you know that I'm not going to be able to meet my goal of producing a new video every week this year like I had wanted. I know some of you have been
eagerly anticipating and enjoying the regular upload schedule, but currently with my personal life it's simply not a possibility. I still want to be present and uploading, but I don't think
it's going to be a weekly thing anymore (but it also won't be a semi-annual affair as it has been in recent memory). I just need to take some extra time for myself. I appreciate your understanding and
support. Take care.

Hello everyone,
It's been a while, yes I know. No, I'm not dead, no I didn't get Covid. The simple fact of the matter is, this channel and the videos I create are a hobby (I've never made more than a few hundred bucks a month in ad revenue for the entirety of my channel, barring a few months where Reddit has picked up on my content). This has never been the majority of my revenue stream and probably never will be, as I refuse to make videos longer just to stuff more ads in, or do product placement or sponsorship for crap I get solicited for all the time, because I don't actually use those products and wouldn't recommend them without actually using what I'm trying to pawn off on all of you. I don't think you guys need any more tech YouTubers singing the praises of Obscure VPN 6000 which is totally legit and the greatest VPN of all time since Obscure VPN 5999, BUY NOW!
That being said, my day job has been consistently and ever increasingly busy as we've switched to working from home for almost a year now. I'm very thankful to have it, but it takes up a lot of time and never really quits. On top of that, starting in October my stepdaughter started suffering from some pretty severe health issues (no, not covid) which take up a great deal of time and resources in attempting to get her through it. Needless to say, virus videos aren't super high on the priority list at the moment.
I do plan on making some more in due time, possibly even before the end of this month. This channel is far from dead, and there are tons of things I'd still like to do before I call it quits. For one thing, I'd eventually like to see this channel at one million subscribers, which will take about 40 years to accomplish at the current rate, so I'll be around for a while. I'd also like to write a book on malware history, as I think doing research in this topic for the past seventeen years would allow for some unique insights and thoughtful presentations, but that remains to be seen.
Finally, I've got some tangentially related topics to cover, including virus and antivirus publications dating back to the mid 1980s, and an ever-growing collection of ancient antivirus software that could prove amusing to look at, if nothing else. If you've got some ideas too, I'm all ears, just keep in mind I have no plans to resume viewer-made malware content at this time.
Thanks if you've read this far. It's been a wild 12+ year ride and I'd like for that to continue for a long time. That's about it for the danooct1 update textwall, thank you very much for reading, take care.

Computer viruses, trojans, and worms in action. From digital mischief to outright destruction, I try to sample a bit of everything that made older malware (malicious software) unique from its modern day counterparts.
Please don't distribute malware or post links to virus hosting sites in the comments of my videos.
